What a find in the middle of Herford! I was attracted by the name, reminding me of a Joni Mitchell song, and by the description of healthy fresh food-- a hard find in Germany. The owner is a super friendly guy who updates recipes going back to his grandmother. The food is simple, well made, and served without fuss. Delicious!!!

This restaurant was recommended to us by the brother-in-law of a local hotel-restaurant owner. He knows a lot about restaurants. His recommendation was spot on! We had been at this restaurant a number of times when the previous owners ran it. The new owners have COMPLETELY rebuilt the inside. It is very open but the huge leather chairs which are very comfortable gives a warm atmosphere.The restaurant could be described as an Italian steak house. In comparison with another steakhouse in Herford, (which just recently closed permanently) The steaks are equally as good, if not better, and a salad and side dish come with the steaks. In many steak houses outside of the steak, everything is extra. The bill adds up quickly. The menu isn't extensive, but everything can be recommended because it's all fresh, nothing out of the freezer. The service is excellent and very friendly. The chef comes out of the kitchen at intervals to ask if the meal has met our expectations. We returned the very next week and took out daughter with us. We have definitely found a permanent address for steaks and Italian food in Herford.There is always parking available in front.

It looks like an old style pharmacy, it serves meat like a fine chop house, and then it hits you with something extraordinary, the beetroot salad for example, or a perfect Manhattan, or the service.This was only my second visit after being here last month and wouldn't you know it, they remembered me. And not in a casual "you've been here before" way, but in detail. My drink, my menu preferences. The whole thing.Bad Salzuflen is out of the way. But if you're anywhere near, this place is highly recommended.
