We stopped here briefly as it is where the train stops Lovely, caring service! They thought of everything and took into consideration that we were not going to be there long. The food was delicious! We stopped here after looking in the sushi shop and the bakery just opposite. Reasonably priced, friendly service. Kids enjoyed gingerbread ladies who were wearing bikinis. Good choice of cabinet food, fresh sandwiches. My soup was nice. Would visit again.
we arrived when the lady was getting ready to close up but she was very lovely and didn't mind. we got our drinks in takeaway cups to help her but she was truly happy for us to take our time on a sunday afternoon. food was yummy and her local understanding of the mining was very informative
Only open Thursday to Sunday 10 till 4 during summer. Serving a limited selection of homemade open sandwiches, scones and cakes + coffees, a good selection of loose teas and lovely hot chocolate. I sampled almost everything over my 5 visits and all were excellent with the savoury scone being the best I have ever tasted!Kate & Will intended to attract cyclists and walkers doing the Hauraki rail trail but they have also attracted a number of locals who have become regular customers. One of the locals being the friend I was staying with. It is a lovely setting and they are a very friendly and welcoming young couple.
I was most impressed with this quaint little tea shop in the centre of Waihi.A friend and I had booked in for a little high tea to celebrate her birthday. We duly arrived and sat down to the most lovely dining experience. As I said, it was just so quaint. The table was laid out with vintage table cloths, tea cups and matching crockery, cutlery and condiments. In fact the whole shop was laid out just as lovely, in full vintage theme. The food was gorgeous; the yummiest club sandwiches I've ever tasted, a simply scrumptious savoury quiche, a perfect scone accompanied by jam and cream, and a melt in your mouth chocolate brownie. This was all served on a vintage two-tiered high tea plate. The selection of teas was really good as well. The High Tea was very reasonably priced at $16.50 and they also do Devonshire Teas priced at $8.50. I would thoroughly recommend visiting this place if you are having a girls day out or similar. The shop part had a few momentos to purchase as well for the die-hard tea lover.
