Reviewed By gitteortvedbHad a nice weekend at Nan House. Its clean, nicely decorated rooms, clean pool and lush and green garden. The owner Ms Hà speaks English and extremely helpful. She arranged the transport from Hanoi for me. Free bikes at the hotel and only a short ride to both Tâm Coc and Mua cave. Highly recommended!

Reviewed By 97lilyjCannot recommend this hotel enough!! The family who runs it is so so kind and really makes you feel welcome and cared for. Such happy and caring individuals. The breakfast was delicious and all the restaurants they recommended were good too! They have both bicycles and scooters to rent for transportation, but also it is within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and some activities. We hired drivers for a day trip and cannot recommend enough! The room was super nice and our last night we got to all eat dinner together which was so sweet. A must stay!

Excellent weekend away for Liberation holiday

First of all the staff were incredible; friendly, helpful, every one with a decent to fluent standard of English (As well as some other languages I heard Korean and Chinese too). Free shuttle bus to and from the bus/train station; we arrived a couple of hours early (Check in usually 14:00) but staff were happy to accommodate and managed to have our room ready by 12:00 sharp. We also received a free upgrade to the 5* suites! Now, the food. What can we say but amazing. Top quality standard all hours of the day; the chefs were happy to meet with guests and obviously had a real passion for their craft. Often fancy hotel or restaurant food is not quite worth the price tag but in this instance I can definitely say it was (the beef with pepper sauce is a personal favourite). Facilities. We had full access to the library, both swimming pools, a tennis/badminton court, and the billiards room, complete with a poolside bar. There was also a spa which was discounted for guests, although unfortunately we did not have time to try it out. The swimming pools were clean and spacious, with pool attendants handing out towels on entry. The room. Our room was quite simply incredible. The usual TV, free water, fruit and tea/coffee set was complimentary; however we also had access to 05:00-22:00 room service and a mini bar. The bathroom was excellent and boasted a large shower and even a bath! (Very rare for VN). Overall we couldn't be happier with the quality of service; we came away feeling refreshed and ready to get back to busy day-to-day work life. A special thanks to all the staff and Mr. Hung for making us feel so welcome, we look forwards to seeing you again. Post note: apologies for the lack of photos, it did not cross our minds as we were having too much fun!

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, Friendly Home is a wonderful escape from everyday city life. Reviewed By Liz JThe room we had was a larger room with two beds and far exceeded our expectations , clean well appointed and spacious . Our hosts were amazing. Organising meals at different times taking us to attractions and dropping us off at train station at the end of our stay. Would highly recommend. Super friendly and very knowledgeable. Food was delicious .The happy water was a nice touch at Dinner times. We ate all meals over the three days in the cosy restaurant .

Reviewed By Vinh PReally well situated hotel . DONT GO TO EMERALDA. We stayed prior at the Emeralda Resort, and we changed hotel after two nights at Emeralda . We booked a 3 nights at Emeralda but it wasn’t at our standard so we changed for Hidden Charm. If we knew sooner that Emeralda was mostly a rip off (especially their taxis) we wouldn’t have stayed there. We Don’t regret at all our choice to have changed for Hidden Charm. The rooms are much cleaner than Emeralda and the staff was extraordinary. We didn’t ask everyone’s name but all the ladies at the front desk were so nice and helpful! They made our stay memorable with all the little details asking us how our day was, welcoming us back after our tour etc. One special mention to Trang (from the front desk). She sure knew how to treat us like a 5 stars resort. Basically making sure that we had the best possible time. You’re a real pearl to the hotel! The pool is really cleaned also (compared to Emeralda which was greensish…) We will surely come back!

Reviewed By 861kristincThe accommodation was comfortable and extremely clean. The owner is very lovely and hospitable. She made sure we were always okay and enjoying ourselves. For breakfast, we got eggs, bread and homemade pineapple jam which were all delicious. She has a BBQ and speaker she offered to us. I will definitely stay here whenever I visit Ninh Binh.

Reviewed By D4631BVcathycThis is our second trip to Vietnam, and, while that definitely does not make us experts, we have visited a number of places and stayed in a variety of lodgings. This, by far, has been our favorite. Our hosts and their children have been so kind and welcoming. The daughter plays piano in the evenings, and it’s beautiful to listen from the patio of our bungalow. Nearby attractions, UNESCO World Heritage sites, at Trang An and Tam Coc, are accessible by bike (free from the Homestay). But the genuine joy of the places lies in just being here. The landscape is stunning, the private bungalows charming, and the food (OMG the food!) is the best we’ve had in any fancy restaurant or on any street. Fresh ingredients are gathered from local farmers — duck eggs, bananas, vegetables, chicken — the taste of all so full of flavor and delicious. Our hosts do not advertise this as ecotourism, but we believe it definitely qualifies. Staying here is authentically life in Vietnam. And it is very good!
