It was nice to return to this simple restaurant after several years. Not being big seafood eaters but wanting something different, we ended up ordering wild boar twice, once cooked in ginger and the second time, in a Chinese curry - enjoyed it both times. They also served nicely cooked vegetables, and home-made charsiew.

Restoran Soon Huat

I read reviews before I actually visited this place. I was very skeptical and not sure whether to bring my family here for lunch. It was quite secluded. When we arrived, we just sat and ordered. Anticipating swarms of flies, dogs and etc but there was actually only 1 fly flying around and 1 stray dog passby. I think people have given this place unreasonable reviews. The price is reasonable, service was without a smile but it was courteous. They attended to us whenever we called them. We ordered:- mini sotong marmite (YUMMY! price is higher than expected RM35 but it was good! hard to find these type of sotong)- steamed red snapper (good and the price only RM78 for a 1.2kg fish, we ate clean clean)- sweet sour crab (3 crabs around 2kg plus, RM80 per kg. Reasonable. Crabs are huge and the sweet sour sauce we wiped clean. It was so good and fresh!)- steamed egg with 10 prawns (RM48. the prawns very fresh. it was good too)- stirfry veggies (2 types, RM9 each, very reasonable)- fu yong tan (kids wiped them clean)- kam heong lala (the lala big and fresh. they added lemongrass and it is quite refreshing) - 6 rice for 10 pax (7 adults 3 kids)- 4 coconuts- 9 apple semboi and kedondong semboiThere are two basins to wash hands with soap provided. total was RM450. I would say it is very reasonable and the food is good and thumbs up! We have no problem coming back again. Please do give them a visit before you judge them by the reviews. Please be fair to them. The seafood is really fresh and good. Keep it up Soon Huat!

Read the reviews for Mimi Seafood Village and decided to waze it there. We ordered quite a fair bit :1) Ikan Pari (stingray) Bakar2) Jenahak (snapper) Bakar3) Sotong petai4) Kai Lan Ikan masin5) telur dadar Overall, the food was tasty and is the typical Malay style of cooking. The Ikan Bakar is cooked with spices came with 2 dipping sauces. The place is a bit secluded and off the main road. There is parking in the vicinity and a couple of stray cats around the area. Would recommend to go early.

Teppanyaki - no, not the Japanese teppanyaki, but local grill style. Our order:- grilled fish with three type of sauce placed on top, sambal, ginger paste and fried shallots/garlic. fresh and interesting sauces. good.- grilled squid. tender with lovely smoky taste. good.- stuffed crab. minced crab meat placed in shell. okay.- sliced fried tofu. this is more like tau kwa, the firmer drier type of tofu.- boneless roast duck, came with some tangy sourish sauce poured over it. good.- lala. fresh and the sauce it's cooked in is delicious.- vegetables. they only had beansprouts or four angled beans. we chose the latter, fresh and crunchy. good.- overall, a wonderful meal. Please take note:- use waze to get there. the signboard is not visible from the road. property is at a bend in the road.- eating and cooking area is sheltered, beside some village houses. - there's only one cooking style for each item. there were two other items on the menu which we didn't order: prawn and otak-otak.

My family and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. The shop was crowded and we were worried the food would take long. Fortunately we only waited a short while before the dishes started coming in. And within a short period all the food had arrived . The food was great, the squid we ordered was fresh . The Aunty taking our orders were friendly . The experience was so pleasant we decided to have lunch there on the following Monday .

Was here after saw a few positive reviews. Well, not very disappointed. Yam ring was really good as recommended by others. The letdown was their signature crab. Nothing interesting at all. Fish was a bit overcooked which causes the meat to be rather rough. Generally service staffs were friendly.

Average food, slow service. Not easy to manage with English. Hard to place order and nobody attends your table voluntarily and you have to gesture waiters to come to your table, take your order and clean your table. They also tend to forget small requests for cutlery and sauce. Hello sapneela..First of all we would like to thank you for dining in our restaurant. We also would like to apologize on what happened. We are sorry for an unsatisfied service from us maybe due to the busy hour.Thank you..
