Fasta Pasta

Not a terribly friendly welcoming place. But polite. Bread basket could contain better quality bread. Food served quickly. Full size portions are to big . Entre size for lunch is a good size. Not particularly tasty - needed lots of parmesen and black pepper. Nice outlook over parks. Pleasant enough for quick lunch. Maitre D could be more smiley!

Riverscape Restaurant

After i wrote my 'asthmatics be ware' review in July I haven't been back. However I work a lot in MB and Riverscape really does have beautiful the best meals especially straks, so I returned praying I wouldn't get smoked out. Half way thru my meal the waitress approached me and said someone had just ordered a stone grill, she remembered I was asthmatic and asked if I would like to move away from that table, to which I did, i moved to the back of the restaurant and was able to finish my steak without being affected. I was most appreciative and thankful for the consideration.

You don't wait long from ordering to receiving your meal here. The sizzling iron plates add a bit of excitement for the younger ones. The banquet has a good variety of textures and flavours and seems to just keep coming. Expect to take some left-overs home with you. For a large space it still has a nice atmosphere.

Delhi Express Indian Restaurant & Takeaway

Staying overnight at 'Balcony on 6th Street'. Where to eat? Chose Delhi Express as it was almost next door to our hotel, cool evening in late May. Looking through the windows it looked OK with tables laid nice. Big jolly Indian served us, all very tasty.
Water supplied, pappadums to nibble on while waiting. Restaurant didn't look busy but it seemed to be doing a good take-away service.

Murray Bridge Hotel Dining Room

We ordered salt and pepper squid (calamari) and this came plonked on top of fries (I hate that) with a ring of chilli sauce around the outside. The calamari, while tender had a coating that was mostly salt and pepper and this dominated the dish. The chilli sauce tasted as though it had been poured out of a bottle and had no subtlety or complexity about it at all. Perhaps one of the least enjoyable salt and pepper calamari I have ever had and I usually order this at pubs as it is a relatively simple dish that most pubs can get right. Unfortunately this pub did not. The salad bar was okay but I am not a fan of them and prefer a nice simple salad on my plate which I can be fairly confident was just freshly prepared for me. The warm bread roll with a butter pat which was served prior to the arrival of the meal was enjoyable.

I've visited this bakery a couple of times now, and recommend the lamb and rosemary pie, and the ploughman's pastie. Both good size and value, with plenty of taste. It's very popular, and lots of people were in the store whenever I've visited.

The German Cake Shop

Originally Established in 2009 as the German Cake Shop Bakery and Cafe Murray Bridge, the GCS has grown at a remarkable rate to become one of Murray Bridges most popular businesses. Owned and operated by husband and wife team Tyson and Amanda, the business was created out of sheer hard work and self belief. Tyson, while working as a Phd student at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, wanted to explore his love of fine coffee and customer service he had acquired while working under his father at the famous German Cake Shop in historic Hahndorf. Amanda, a hairdresser by trade asked no questions as she joined the journejoined the journey. Sourcing products from Tyson's dads bakery, the business acquired a healthy regular customer base. Products and services were added, including a large lunch menu, the business was the towns first 7 day a week cafe, renowned for its Sunday breakfasts. By late 2011 it had become apparent that the shops coffee was the drawcard, and the decision was made to change the direction of the business, becoming Murray Bridge's first espresso bar. Specialising in two different types of coffee, 6 chai and chocolate flavours, syrups, fruit smoothees, iced drinks and frappes, the GCS (Gourmet Coffee Shop) has everything you need. The all day breakfast menu covers all the bases, from fruit toast to bacon and eggs, omelettes, and a couple of house specialties. Lunch ranges from our famous chips, gourmet toasted sandwiches, burgers and Yiros, to schnitzels. If your after something quick the GCS has Adelaide best gourmet pies, pasties and sausage rolls, fresh baked baguettes, gourmet salad packs, focaccia, wraps and sandwiches. Take away is our specialty, so why not use our online ordering or SMS ordering systems for you lunch or quick take away coffee. Travelling between the Barossa and Melbourne we looked at some trip advisor reviews to find a place that served good coffee. Some establishments claim to make coffee but we have had some awful concoctions on the trip to the outback. This place lived up to its reviews. We were very impressed with the service, the coffee and the delicious muffin served warm straight from the oven. The establishment is clean and spacious but lacks ambience.

Steamers Cafe Murray Bridge

Reviewed By Walkabout96 - Bray, Ireland

I chose this cafe while visiting Murray Bridge because of the rave reviews on trip advisor. As it was a rainy Sunday, I decided I should reserve a table. They were happy to do that but as it turned out, it was unnecessary. They weren't that busy after all.
They had a very broad menu selection to cater for all tastes. I could've eaten several times over if my stomach would allow it! The interior of the cafe is nothing special and there is certainly room for further development to make it more attractive in the future. However the food was excellent, creative and very reasonably priced. The girls working in service were your typical nice friendly country girls. Efficient too.
I had the bruschetta, which was an interesting Aussie take on the Italian classic. I would have preferred more tomato on it, however the perfectly poached egg and alfalfa sprouts on top of the Turkish bread made for an interesting meal. The Coffex coffee was excellent too.
I will certainly go back again if I find myself in Murray Bridge.
