Best Accommodation in Murchison!

Reviewed By TomSmithers69

If you are passing through Murchison, you have to stop here. The lodge is set in a quiet back street, close to the river but within walking distance to local restaurants. The accommodation was clean, quiet, cosy and a wonderful setting for a relaxing getaway. The hosts are very friendly and Phillip cooked a delicious breakfast that set us up for the day. We got to say hello to their chickens, their cat called “the great catsby” and their horses. The place has so much character and we would highly recommend. We will definitely be back!

They said relax …

Reviewed By WestonRoad

We arrived with great expectations which were more than adequately fulfilled. We were offered a choice of villas and chose one close to the main building as I have a walking difficulty and stairs are not my favourite thing. The options of activities are varied and I am sure will fulfil he requirements of those more fit than my 88 year old body. We were content to relax in the quiet bush surroundings, take the occasional walk to the airfield and other easy ones. Then every morning and evening sit down to the great breakfasts and dinners served in the most enjoyable surroundings. We highly recommend this spot to get away from your daily routine and enjoy life’s offerings.

What a pleasant surprise. After overdosing on burgers and chips for the last few days, we didn't expect to get really good sweet and sour pork, and wontons at a Nelson Lakes tavern. Thanks Kim, and Mr. Kim, for making our trip!

The Hampden Hotel

Amazing Feed

Reviewed By cashmerebay

We didnt stay at the Hampden, but we ate there (just as we did 4 years ago) and it was a bloody beauty of a feed. We were astounded at how the kitchen staff just kept cool and focused while the diners came through the door in an endless line. They never got flustered and the quality of the kai never suffered. They were still smiling when we left (with very full tummies). Bloody amazing, massive feeds.
