We found this sandwich shop a short walk from the main attractions in Pisa. Very friendly staff, great selection of tasty sandwiches, nice choice of wines. We had the vegetarian and the Porchetta with Brie, the €4.50 recommended wine was delicious. You can take away or eat in, no extra charge, we highly recommend this restaurant for lunch.

It was our first dinner in Pisa. We made reservation but there was no problem with table around 7 PM. Owner spent with us a lot of time telling about every dish and wine from the menu. His knowledge about Toscany cuisine was impressive. We chose pasta with ragu and with asparagus. It was shocking that with so simple igredients you can made so many flavours. Chianti wine is my favourite now! I recommend this place.

Barbara and the team made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived at the restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble and their recommendations were perfect. We shared a meat & cheese platter to start, had beautiful pasta and meat main (all recommended by Barbara) and finished off with strawberry tiramisu, fabulous. The wines and drinks recommended went perfectly with the food. We sat outside on a beautiful warm evening, there was a great buzz in the square and had a lovely evening-feeling so welcome and part of it all. All for a very reasonable price. Thanks again!

You’d be forgiven for casting a glance up Via Fillippo Serafini and then marching on by – from the Arno at night the exterior to Vicolo Divino had me reminiscing about the start of Batman (1989) and wondering if I might lose my travelling companions before turning to a life of vigilantism… don’t let this stop you approaching the door. This place is a gem. They have a great selection of wines, which are all reasonably priced. If you’ve travelled well in Italy then you’ll come to expect some aperitivos by now, but the selection that came out to us was freshly prepared and in plentiful supply. I opted for the Merlot, which was warmed to perfection and exactly what I needed to while away an hour before dinner.I came to realise that Vicolo Divino’s location was perfect – it’s far enough away from the Lungarno so that the traffic noise is an afterthought, yet close enough to Corso Italia meaning you don’t have to plan in advance to visit. Everyone who walked by seemed to know the owner, and many stopped in for a drink… always a good sign.

So we walked past this place and it seemed popular with locals, which is always a good sign. Anyway, both being a bit bored of pasta after five days he chose beef fillet, I went for pistachio crusted lamb. When they arrived it became clear this is nouvelle cuisine...my lamb cutlets offered literally four mouthfuls of meat and were served with one half of a new potato. No salad garnish, no veg. Admittedly what we ate was tasty...but we will be visiting the pizza shop on the way home
