Visited here last night and had a really good time. The sushi was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the mixed starter platter too. I ordered the lobster sushi but it was too heavy and cumbersome. I didnât see much lobster in the sushi either. We asked our server who said it was made out of a different type of recipe (not sure) Our server was kind and attentive and made sure we were well looked after. I would definitely return here. It has a nicer and more modern decor then a lot of the other sushi places around.

When we were there, the place was quiet. A Monday night. The restaurant is in a strip mall, albeit a clean and reasonably modern looking place, the mall still has all the ambiance of a combined paint store, library and shoe store. The same as every other strip mall on the face of the earth. However uninspired these places may seem, they generally offer acceptably convenient secure parking, and this one is no exception. Once inside, you are met by the workstation where your food is prepared. It is clean and modern looking. The rest of the restaurant is outfitted in the post modern "Ikea chic" look. Cold angular utilitarian tables and chairs, contrasting black and white colour scheme throughout, with a splash of colour surrounding the entrance. The floors are non carpeted, brown coloured laminate.I find that to be a bonus, as, the thought of ground in food in carpet disgusts me in a place that serves food. Our server, I did not catch her name, was personable, friendly, professional, thorough and very helpful. Although a less busy night, she was the only server working. She manged to keep the 4 or 5 tables attended to, and bus the recently vacated tables. In this restaurant, you make your order and they prepare it fresh to order. Therefore there may be a little lag time as your order is being prepared depending on how busy the place is at that time. As for the food? I have to agree with Schnekie. It is the best sushi place hands down!! The best in all of Essex County!!! Nothing better or even close on Wyandotte St. Perhaps the best in S.W. Ontario. At least, I have yet to find better sushi between London and outer Detroit. As well as excellent tasting, freshly prepared, traditional sushi. The Sushi Bar, has some interesting takes on the traditional sushi style. If you are adventurous, try the "Canadian" . It is a bacon and pepperoni sushi roll. Or try the banana and sushi roll. Sounds different? Yes. However both of them are delightful. Overall, The Sushi Bar, has convenient, clean secure parking, fantastic service and delightful traditional sushi along with newer styles of sushi.You will not go wrong eating here. Highly recommended. There is no better sushi place anywhere in Essex County.

What a hidden gem if you like Tia and Japanese cuisines. Nothing fancy but very intimate. We were greeted by a young lady with a welcoming personality. The 2 menus were a bit overwhelming but she walked us through them and answered our questions. Prices were very reasonable. We got sushi and a fantastic beef stir fry along with tempura vegetables as an appetizer. Everything was flavorful and large portions. The chef came out to check on things and flashed a happy smile when we gave him thumbs up! Definitely a place we will return to.
