Nowadays, it seems, even not-so-necessarily-healthy food is galning popularity in Sweden. Swedes, it seems, are making a point of making but a few exceptions from their otherwise health oriented life style, but when they go for meat, they want the real deal. The Texas Longhorn chain of restaurants does a great job of getting as close to the real thing, as technically possible. A Texan would not be fooled, but I do not think he or she would be totally disatisfied either. Well worth a try!

My first impression was that the place is a bit too large and very crowded, yet I was there on a monday evening - rather late (9pm). The menu was also very large, leaving me wondering what to order. I ended up trying the Kobe (as it is difficult to get hold of in Sweden), which (unfortunately) was served with condiments on the side rather than presented beautifully on a plate with professionally measured amounts of the condimends - which I prefer. The meat was really good, we had it rare as recommended. We also managed to get a nice bottle of Italian red from the wine cellar, and good service to go with it. Still, I feel that this restaurant is more for larger companies, friends, or families than couples as it wasn´t very romantic or cosy. They also ran out of baked potatoes (yes, that was an original condiment for the Kobe) so we had to go with something else (not that I mind not having a baked potatoe at a nice restaurrant, but the thing that they ran out..). I was a bit dissapointed, having heard a lot of good stories of the ffod here. I suppose I am more of a fine-dining type of individual and AG is more suitable for meat lovers that eat more rather than pretty. Prices are in line with some michelin restaurants I have been to in Europe.

The ambience and decor of the restaurant is great, all that you expect in a casual steak place: wooden tables for sitting of larger groups, great bar. Unfortunately, the food was below standard. I ordered a ribeye medium which was on the dry side and not tender at all. Chips and salads were OK though. Service was rather average.
