It lies at the western foot of Mount Vesuvius, on the Bay of Naples, just southeast of the city of Naples. The medieval town of Resina - read Resìna - was built on the volcanic material left by the eruption of Vesuvius (79 CE) that destroyed the ancient city of Herculaneum, from which the present name is derived. Ercolano is a resort and the starting point for excursions to the excavations of Herculaneum and for the ascent of Vesuvius by bus. The town also manufactures leather goods, buttons, glass, and the wine known as Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ).

The service was nice but oh God the food was horrific. Neither my wife or I finished our meal. I have no clue how this place is ranked #1. Also, their credit card machine is broken. How convenient, so cash only. Nice people though. Skip this place.

When you're lost in Ercolano as we where (what to do in Ercolano for a week when you're not visiting Herculaneum and Pompeii) this place gives you a really warm welcome to the locals and good food too! But please remind; it's a bar, so don't go for the Aperol Pritz and espresso with sambucca, but taste one of the great beers and spoil yourself with a very tasty hamburger, their service is excellent and they are happy to advice you even when you don't speak Italian! The place is not easy to find, just walk to the end of the map where TripAdvisor advices you to go. You have to go up a stair to reach the terras. They are open from about 20hrs, instead of 19hrs.Thank you Esme D,it was an honor for us to have had a pleasant evening. See you soonEmanuele

Finalmente un pub gourmet.......nella nostra amata città .......Nulla togliere agli altri pub in zona.......ma io preferisco la qualità del cibo e Vittorio lo sposa a pieno. Went for a quick meal here after seeing positive reviews. Our food was good and arrived promptly. It is good value for money as the burgers are huge and taste good also. Good selection of beers and wines for reasonable price. Would be hard to improve our experience.
