Tried the chili , it was very good but too much butter for my liking, beer would have been great, but not able to have any for a few days. And they had a few different types, which a lot of places have only 2 or 3 types of beer. Vegetables were really good as well as was the rice. The portion size was large as well. Clean bathroom, English menu, friendly service, I would go back again.

Open to the main avenida, with colorful tablecloths and friendly service. They serve a number of chicken dishes, seafood, etc. with rice and salad, tortillas. Not exciting but does the job, and always roof for a passing pal to come in and join you.

Ate lunch there yesterday. Tiny margarita. Had coconut shrimp....only six per serving. They were good. The rice was salty and the veggies were drowned in butter. Service was slow although there were about eight or more people doing various things. Wouldn't go back.

On a tour of the area, we missed our turn off for Sayulita, and ended up at Rincón de Guayabitos. Ended up at the beach, in search for a place for snacks and drinks, and chose Villanueva Restaurante. I don't know what the snacks we had were, as our Mexican hosts did the ordering, but they were delicious! Best Margarita Ever! And our view of the beach was perfect. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, making sure we knew about the live music on Fridays, and that the upcoming band was from Canada, as were we. Loved the spot, and hope to spend more time in that beautiful little town down the road!

El Pollito is our favourite restaurant in La Penita. Prices are very reasonable. Sadly our favourite server named Edgar is no longer employed here. He sure made our dining experience enjoyable last year. Regardless the food as usual is always good. We had the clubhouse sandwich and the shrimp burger which were delicious. There is free wifi on site, just ask the server for the password. Highly recommended!
