We had a family lunch here in January 2019 and to be honest it was great. We waited a little bit longer than I expected but when the appetizers arrived the things were improved. All the food was very good, the meat was cooked perfectly and the price was very low. Located off the main streets, this little eating house/pub is great for old and traditional cuisine. The tabled dined on a variety of plates and there was no disappointment. I would have to visit a number of times to get through the many plate options - on this occasion though, goulash with potato was my choice. I could have gone for the bread gnocchi or the spinach pancake, but this will have to wait for my next visit.There is a choice of six local brewed beers - the 0.5 litre lager was excellent.The restaurant is only open at night so do not expect a long lunch.There was an eclectic mix of diners from British, Germans, Australians an locals. An excellent suggestion from a family member.You will not be disappointed.

Visited the restaurant 14th June 19 with my wife. We were looking for somewhere good for what would be our last meal in Croatia before returning biome to the UK. The service and ambience were excellent. I had Pork Medallions with Truffle Sauce and my wife had Fresh griddled tuna. Both our meals were first class. To finish we had Pancakes with ice cream and Apple Strudel with cream finished of with a great coffee. The quality of the food was excellent and I would fully recommend.

We were looking for a cozy place on a rainy Trieste evening. Stopped in on a whim, early, as Americans do. The owner/staff is very engaging. A bit of an Italian lesson for my wife, chastising my choice of potato accompaniment, all in good spirits. The place seems to have a long legacy in the city and the environment harkens back to a time gone by. My wife had gnocchi with deer that was just molten, and I enjoyed Wiener schnitzel. Itâs reasonably priced, cozy, and a delightful easy going place for dinner.
