It has been a few years since our first visit to Soda La Naranja. We stopped in for Ceviche and beers and we were not disappointed. They really do make the best ceviche around town. Enjoyed watching the chef prepare freshest ingredients - tasting as he goes to ensure the best flavours. Love the fact that it is locally owned.

Went to this place as it was recommended by our hostel, and we were very pleased. The chef personally greeted us and gave us his recommendations. We ordered pina coladas, ceviche, shrimp, and sea bass. Everything was delicious and the servers were very attentive. Loved the atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend!

Wow I was blown away at how good the food is at this hidden gem of a beach restaurant. We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was a real treat. Iâm told the food is always different depending on the market availability. This is a top place.

The freshest, most delicious seafood we had on the entire trip. It's served by the nicest man and cooked by his wife, who is a phenomenal chef. My picky 11-year old loved it too. The lobster and ceviche are quite good, but whatever magical sauces they make to add to the seafood and pastas are what I've been dreaming about since I got home. Skip the mediocre beach side bars/restaurants and go here. You won't regret it.

I was not feeling well and had simple grilled fresh fish. Very good and moist. My hysband had the curry and coconut fish and fell in love with it. We were also greatly entertained by the house kitties. Just like home, I think they knew we were kitty lovers.

I went due to positive reviews on tripadvisor & wasnât disappointed. We had pineapple & mint juices which were lovely, chicken & shrimp rice & 2 glasses of wine. The food was fresh & tastes great. At the end of the night, as 2 females we were worried about walking back into town in the dark as they couldnât get us a taxi. Our waiter was so kind and walked us home when he finished his shift. What a lovely place!

My family is primarily vegan, so choosing Ylang Ylang was simple. The food was terrific, plentiful and delicious. What also makes the meal are the wonderful staff, people we enjoyed seeing and chatting with (in Espanol as best we could) every meal.Thank you for your review! This hotel/restaurant has recently been taken over by new management, and the improvements are wonderful. My husband had calamari as an appetizer and shrimp for an entrée. I asked about the spaghetti, which comes in a white sauce. I wanted a red sauce, so the chef made a nice tomato sauce. It wasn't spaghetti sauce, but it was still very good.

We turned up on spec one evening and thought maybe the restaurant was closed, as there were no other diners....next surprise, the man I addressed in my carefully-rehearsed Spanish, was definitely struggling to understand me.... of course, he is a newly-arrived Canadian! But what he lacks in knowledge of Spanish he more than compensates for with his culinary abiities. He whipped us up a fresh guacamole and delicious home-made tortilla chips to keep us busy while he prepared a variety of fish and chicken dishes for us, all equally delicious. His young son came out to socialize with us and was absolutely delightful, entertaining us and amazing with his laid-back approach to creepy crawlies and snakes etc which seem to be his main interest in Costa Rica! We had a great meal and would definitely have returned had it not been our last night in the area. Highly recommended!

So, do you like Pizza? Heh, well, I came here thinking it was a seafood place, since it is a short walk from the beach, and I guess the word "Mar" in the name made me think seafood. Its pretty much all Pizza - though they have an impressive clay oven and make the pizzas right in front of you. The couple running the place are warm and welcoming, and burned insence for me to keep the bugs away (like most things in Tambor, its in a wide open area without much around it but raw nature). Howler monkies sang to me while I ate. I diddnt get pizza, but got one of their daily specials instead, and it was incredible. I saw other people eating pizza and it looked amazing (though being a New Yorker, I dont see a need to eat pizza when I travel to foreign countries). But yeah, no seafood ;-), so dont assume "Mar" means seafood like I did!
