I've stayed at Casa MarBella four years in a row now and this was the first time we walked up the short path to Brisas. I can't even explain why we hadn't before but I'm glad we finally did. We ended up going twice. Once for pizza night on Friday and then once again for the regular menu. My entire family enjoyed the grilled pizza and we hung around until we were stuffed and had to waddle down the hill. I think this would be a weekly event for us if we lived in ST. The regular menu is spot on as well. I highly recommend the seafood tapas and the calamari tacos. For dinner I had the crispy tuna which was a real treat. This whole place has a really cool vibe with a great deck, some very laid back tables with couches, a funky bar and good music. I also thought the prices were very reasonable for the food served. One thing I did notice, it did not appear that they had included the 10% service charge on the bill that is customary in most CR restaurants. So tip accordingly.

One of two true beachside restaurants in town, both of which are great, but we have a special fondness for Chico's. Their food is fresh, menu varied with traditional Costa Rican dishes as well as Hamburgesas (with a slice of ham inside).The bar is also a great spot for people watching.Look for Amanda waiting tables in the restaurant, she is a sweet little dynamo, always happy and upbeat. Try a Margarita there and a bite to eat, you won't be sorry.

Went to this place as it was recommended by our hostel, and we were very pleased. The chef personally greeted us and gave us his recommendations. We ordered pina coladas, ceviche, shrimp, and sea bass. Everything was delicious and the servers were very attentive. Loved the atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend!

Although you can eat inside, we ate in the lovely garden in the back with all the tropical birds chirping. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast there and we loved all four meals. On the Tuesday evening a small musical group set up at 7 pm and we thought it would be "noisy and loud" but it was great: a combination of classical guitar and music by very talented musicians. Would highly recommend this restaurant.Thank you so much for your visit. We love our art garden, we are happy you did too. We hope to see you again in the future.

My husband & I really enjoyed our dinner here. The food was great & beautifully presented. Service was attentive & everyone spoke English (which was helpful as our Spanish is non-existent!). The atmosphere was amazing - colorful little fairy lights twinkling in the trees, waves pounding on the beach, latin music playing all made for an exotic holiday feel. The only downside was the TERRIBLE road you had to travel to get to the restaurant...rough, dusty and narrow - not for the faint of heart!

I was not feeling well and had simple grilled fresh fish. Very good and moist. My hysband had the curry and coconut fish and fell in love with it. We were also greatly entertained by the house kitties. Just like home, I think they knew we were kitty lovers.

One of the current bartenders, Christina, is lovely, just darling...and like the other bartenders she makes a mean Pina Colada! We can also recommend the fish tacos and the Nicoya Fish. But, to be honest, we basically could eat Marks' Famous Nachos all day every day. :)And, the atmosphere is so beautiful and peaceful, that everything is a treat!

My family is primarily vegan, so choosing Ylang Ylang was simple. The food was terrific, plentiful and delicious. What also makes the meal are the wonderful staff, people we enjoyed seeing and chatting with (in Espanol as best we could) every meal.Thank you for your review! Went here on 23rd March while staying at Tango Mar. I phoned Judy to make a reservation on the day and she kindly picked us up (and took us back) The food was excellent particularly the steak which was one of the best I have ever eaten. Judy and her staff were friendly and attentive, the bar area and the eating area are beautiful, wine was good too definitely our best meal in Costa Rica I cannot recommend it highly enough. I was very angry at the 1 star review that was put on on the day we visited by someone who had made no reservation and got lost ( but didn't think to phone!) this place is beautiful but off the beaten track and if no one has made reservations then it doesn't open. Believe me this place deserves to be the no 1 restaurant in Tambor and the reviews are true. Thank you Judy for a great last night in Tambor.
