Our family of 10 were staying nearby in 2 villas. This was the restaurant we went back to again & again because we found this place wonderfully welcome & the food was excellent. (The best quinoa salad ever). It was very clean & appealing. Recommend.

Restaurant El Greco

Went to El Greco one evening due to the reviews on trip advisor mostly. Received a nice welcome as usual with Greek tavernas, very nice typical Greek taverna. Starters consisted of saginaki and stuffed vine leaves, both nice. As soon as our plates were taken the waitress brought our mains out instantly, no 5/10 minute wait. My wife ordered the cheese and tomato pizza which was very dry and not very tasty. I ordered the stifado, a favourite of mine. It was a nice meal but it wasn't the stifado I enjoy in Greece. It was in gravy not tomato juice. I don't like giving a poor review but the Greek laid back feeling we like and tasty food just wasn't present on this occasion.

We have been in Agia Pelagia many times before and have tried many of the restaurants here. We decided to try out this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We tried some of the food from greek menu. We had both the veal giouvetsi and the lamb with yogurt. Both dishes were amazing. We are definitely coming back.

Good, simple, local and traditional food but I wasn’t blown away by the food, service or view. It’s a shame the restaurant can’t reserve the parking spaces opposite as cars often park and blocking it leaving you with just a road to admire. I can see some other reviews had a fantastic experience so perhaps we got a little unlucky and with such an affordable menu it’s worth a shot. Ευχαριστω για την κριτικη σας.Ελπιζω στην επομενη επισκεψη σας να εισται πιο τυχερος.

Taverna Bar Stelios

Taverna Bar Stelios is a family run restaurant opened in 1987. From that time our mother is cooking until now. Every day we offer a big variety of fresh local products from the local producers and fishermans.

We were staying next door at an all inclusive hotel, but we loved Stelios Taverna so much we ate here for a couple of evening meals, rather than at our hotel buffet. The taverna is set in an amazing location, right on the beach with stunning views. The menu is very greek, very extensive and you will find something you love on it. The food is amazing, all freshly prepared, very authentic, quality ingredients and loads of it. Great value for money and a lovely atmosphere. It's a family business, and all the staff were lovely and very friendly. The complimentary desserts & raki/ouzo at the end of the meal was a lovely gesture by the taverna, those of you who have eaten at Stelios will know what I mean, and those who haven't eaten there yet really should go. This is probably one of the best tavernas/restaurants I have been to in years.

From the minute you walk in you are welcomed and treated like one of the family. The food is amazing and very large portions with complimentary breads, dips, cheeses and desserts. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and the owners arranged for fireworks over the sea ( we didn’t request them). The whole experience was amazing and I can not recommend this family run restaurant more highly! A beautiful night.

Maxim Restaurant

After having some not so nice experience in Heraklion we tried Maxim, based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. As appetizer we had mussels saganaki, a huge plate with mussels and vegetables covered with melted cheese. Main course was a traditional dish made of lamb, delicious as well. 2 persons shared 1 portion of each since we wanted to try more than one plate, and it was actually too much! Portions are big. Even if we were full, the server brought us fruits and raki on the house, very good option for desert.
