Sunday lunch for four of us. Two of us had the Wild Boar scotch egg as a starter and both of us thought it outstanding , almost a meal in itself !!We all rather surprisingly went for the roast beef and in the most part were very happy with the plate put in front of us, a good portion of beef, roast potatoes, small yorkshire pudding (but a good one) and good selection of vegetables. The only issue was it seemed to us that the beef had been cooked in a water bath (not sure but think so) which in our humble opinion did it no favours at all as it lacked flavour. One thing however we all agreed upon was the standard of service which was excellent and in particular "mine host" who made sure he visited each and every table for a chat and asked if all was well. Would it that all owners, patrons, managers followed his example. Many thanks for posting a review. It was a pleasure serving you and I hope to see you again soon.

Gastro Pub restaurant We are a beautiful Rural English pub recently taken over by the executive head chef of Villa Bianca and The Alpine Restaurant . We simply cannot wait to show you what we've been working on and serve up the great food that you expect
Popped in for some food after a day in London centre, lovely atmosphere and very attentive staff. Fish and chips were incredible! Only wish for improvement is that it could be moved closer to home! Thank you for a lovely meal!

We visited a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch. Whilst the food was nice it took ages for them to take our order and serve it, meaning that by dessert time they were rushing us out the door to make way for the next booking. Considering that we had arrived early and had just spent a few hundred pounds this felt a little impolite.

Bar Bodega is the perfect haven for every over-25 who just can't find a decent bar. Our feel is 1920's speakeasy meets jazz club with heavy drapes and deep leather sofas to offer a welcome that's akin to a long hot bath after a rough day. Discover a rare
Having been to bodegas for drinks severalTimes (which I would recommend), we decided to go for a Sunday roast. Our waitress told us they didnât have any menus and had to tell us the whole menu from her notepad. The staff had no idea what the menu was, prawns for starter were described as âprawns in a sauceâ. It took over an hour to get our food, which was luke warm. Our side of pigs in blankets were dropped over an elderly couple sat next to us. We then didnât receive an apology or even a replacement. When the new manager came to finally take our plates, we were finally asked how our meal was. We told him it wasnât great for him to not even apologies and just say âoh rightâ. We finally received our bill with pigs in blankets still on it. The waiter happily took of all food from our bill and actually laughed when I said how bad the food was. The response was, âgod it did sound sh*tâ. I have honestly never had such bad customer service, we actually found it hilarious after initially being frustrated. This place is now so poorly managed the staff have no idea how to cope with service. All staff need hospitality training. Would never recommend this restaurant again.Dear Jennie Thank you for your feed back. I'm sorry your experience was not a good one, I understand that you experienced a complete breakdown in service and kitchen standards on Sunday, and you must know that this is not how we usually operate. Please contact me at your convenience where I can discuss this further with you. Kind regards,Freddie 01923 229651

After about a year of not having visited we arrived on Thursday night for an early supper with a visiting member of the family. I booked the table in the restaurant part . Despite all the doors being wide open ( summer) the room had an unpleasant stale smell of food often present in food places not thoroughly cleaned/ repainted often enough. Wooden tables were clean. The mezze board to share before the main meal. Carrot and cucumber sticks were dried on edges clearly cut much arlier and left uncovered in the kitchen, baked haloumi sticks were commercially pre-preprepared and did not taste freshly baked. Dips barely visible under the vegetables. Mains were fine. Staff was as helpful and as good as I remember from previous visits.Good morning, We can only apologise for the stale odour that you experienced. This is not something that we come across very often and are disappointed that it affected your evening. The pub is deep cleaned every morning by professional cleaners and we take great pride in its overall appearance and the ambience this creates. With regards to the mezze board - we are disappointed to hear that you found the ingredients to not be as fresh as they should. We have have spoken to the kitchen to ensure that our quality is not compromised like this again as this is not acceptable. Regarding the halloumi chips we can assure you that these are hand cut, on site, from blocks of halloumi and then cooked to order. We are sorry if they were not as you expected. We were really glad that our staff were helpful and we would like to thank you for your constructive feedback as this helps us to improve and maintain our high standards. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us on [email protected] thanks,Kerri

The Authentic Thai Cuisine is a franchised Thai food operation working within the The Nasot Arms public house in Watford.
Wonderful fragrant and delicate food served by exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly staff.Very generous portions of outstanding food and will suit all palates as the heat and spice can be easily adjusted.Only one small caveat itâs very noisy and not great if you want to have a good conversation so we just let the food do the talking and it succeeded really well.Heartily recommended and will be returning to try out more from the varied menu

New comfortable renovated pub in North Watford just 5 minutes walk from Watford Junction Station along St Albans Road. We are family friendly and have a Beer Garden behind the pub. Our Head Chef is 5 star trained and has worked at The Grove Hotel in Watfo
Staff really very nice. My partner had lamb I had beef. Beef was not pink in middle pretty dry. The lamb looked nicer. Roast potatoes were like boiled potatoes which was a shame as everyone loves a roast potato. Plate was hot which I always think is important. Yorkshireâs were homemade and very nice. Iâd say an average roast, starter was nice. Would we go back for food? Probably not which is a shame
