We visited a few weeks ago for Sunday lunch. Whilst the food was nice it took ages for them to take our order and serve it, meaning that by dessert time they were rushing us out the door to make way for the next booking. Considering that we had arrived early and had just spent a few hundred pounds this felt a little impolite.

Visited in 2016 whilst staying at the Premier Inn before going to Warner Brothers Studio Tour on the following day. We ate there on 2 consecutive nights and were more than happy with the food and service. However, visited again on 20th October before doing the same again. Booked a table for 3 for 7.30pm to avoid having to wait in a queue. We arrived early and were shown to our table by 7.20pm. Ordered drinks whilst looking at the menu, then ordered a starter and mains. The starter arrived at approximately 7.45pm and was very nice. The plates were collected and we ordered more drinks. After watching the drinks move down the bar for 15 minutes, they were eventually brought to the table. We then watched other tables receive their mains order desserts and receive them. We waited and waited......Our mains finally arrived at 8.55pm and were not good !We cannot complain about our waiter who obviously felt responsible. He actually negotiated a 40% reduction on the bill without being asked.Would need to seriously think twice before visiting again.

This visit was for three adults on a busy Friday evening. Parking was available at the front of the building. There was a large party in the rear area and we were found a quiet table at the front, and we were able to look into the kitchen. We found the whole experience excellent. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive. The food was very tasty, not your usual, 'base sauce with extras thrown in'. We could watch it all being cooked fresh. My wife's king prawns were slightly undercooked, but this was quickly rectified with apologies (however, lost one 'star'). The chicken dishes were perfect, as were the vegetables.Good selection of drinks. We will certainly put this on the 'go again' list.Dear Richard, Thank you for your detailed review, we value your feedback :-) Apologies again for the undercooked prawns and we have noted this down to ensure it does not happen again. We are glad that you enjoyed the food and look forward to seeing you again soon :-) Please kindly take the time to download our 'MC Group' app from the app store to sign up for loyalty benefits & discounts to use at all of our venues. Having been to bodegas for drinks severalTimes (which I would recommend), we decided to go for a Sunday roast. Our waitress told us they didn’t have any menus and had to tell us the whole menu from her notepad. The staff had no idea what the menu was, prawns for starter were described as “prawns in a sauce”. It took over an hour to get our food, which was luke warm. Our side of pigs in blankets were dropped over an elderly couple sat next to us. We then didn’t receive an apology or even a replacement. When the new manager came to finally take our plates, we were finally asked how our meal was. We told him it wasn’t great for him to not even apologies and just say “oh right”. We finally received our bill with pigs in blankets still on it. The waiter happily took of all food from our bill and actually laughed when I said how bad the food was. The response was, “god it did sound sh*t”. I have honestly never had such bad customer service, we actually found it hilarious after initially being frustrated. This place is now so poorly managed the staff have no idea how to cope with service. All staff need hospitality training. Would never recommend this restaurant again.Dear Jennie Thank you for your feed back. I'm sorry your experience was not a good one, I understand that you experienced a complete breakdown in service and kitchen standards on Sunday, and you must know that this is not how we usually operate. Please contact me at your convenience where I can discuss this further with you. Kind regards,Freddie 01923 229651

After about a year of not having visited we arrived on Thursday night for an early supper with a visiting member of the family. I booked the table in the restaurant part . Despite all the doors being wide open ( summer) the room had an unpleasant stale smell of food often present in food places not thoroughly cleaned/ repainted often enough. Wooden tables were clean. The mezze board to share before the main meal. Carrot and cucumber sticks were dried on edges clearly cut much arlier and left uncovered in the kitchen, baked haloumi sticks were commercially pre-preprepared and did not taste freshly baked. Dips barely visible under the vegetables. Mains were fine. Staff was as helpful and as good as I remember from previous visits.Good morning, We can only apologise for the stale odour that you experienced. This is not something that we come across very often and are disappointed that it affected your evening. The pub is deep cleaned every morning by professional cleaners and we take great pride in its overall appearance and the ambience this creates. With regards to the mezze board - we are disappointed to hear that you found the ingredients to not be as fresh as they should. We have have spoken to the kitchen to ensure that our quality is not compromised like this again as this is not acceptable. Regarding the halloumi chips we can assure you that these are hand cut, on site, from blocks of halloumi and then cooked to order. We are sorry if they were not as you expected. We were really glad that our staff were helpful and we would like to thank you for your constructive feedback as this helps us to improve and maintain our high standards. If you would like to discuss this further please contact us on [email protected] thanks,Kerri

Staff really very nice. My partner had lamb I had beef. Beef was not pink in middle pretty dry. The lamb looked nicer. Roast potatoes were like boiled potatoes which was a shame as everyone loves a roast potato. Plate was hot which I always think is important. Yorkshire’s were homemade and very nice. I’d say an average roast, starter was nice. Would we go back for food? Probably not which is a shame
