The municipality comprises the towns of Deurle and Sint-Martens-Latem proper. On January 1, 2006, Sint-Martens-Latem had a total population of 8,280. The total area is 14.34 km² which gives a population density of 577 inhabitants per km².

This cute café doesnt serve fries as was stated in some of the other reviews.They have cheese, salami and olives, but for a high price and not a lot of quality.Ambiance is cosy and they had football on, wich was also nice.Hi, did you know that you can buy fries close to us and ear them at our bar/terrace when buying a drink? To correct you:We serve cheese from a local farmer, gentse kop made by a butcher in town, same as for the salami (so fresh not from a shop), serranoham aged for 5years, olives , from a local turkish shop, tierenteyn mustard from well known thé mutserd maker in Ghent. So we might say we do not buy cheap - high quantities selled food in grosery stores. Every week I do thr shopping for these goods so a bit pitty to read your comment on the not high quality?We are glad that you did enjoy the football and the ambiance!

I lunched here with important company and I shall never return. The hostess was extremely charming. There are too many âscampi and gamba-dishesâ (mostly tasteless prawns) on the menu. Scampi in garlic, scampiâs (sic) diabolique (both as a starter and on the fish menu), gambaâs with tartar-sauce (both as a starter and on the fish menu), a scampi salad and a wok with scampi. Of the eight main courses, six are beef-dishes. I can be quick about the food. Itâs plain. The wine list is very good and definitely value. What genuinely disturbed me was the fact that our table wasnât clean. Our glasses stuck to the table. It was as if they were glued to the sticky surface. Please employ a new cleaner asap. And to our horror, we saw something on the wall next to us that can be best described as nose-pickings. I finished my wine and got me coat.

Me and my wife passed trough Drongen on lunch time and on the townsquare we decided to have a rest and we saw a small brasserie, called Aurelle.We decided to give it a try. There was just 1 table left (on a weekday !). I tried the home made hamburger, which was exceptional. It was made with a lot of fresh vegetables ans with the best minced meat, with some chopped onions in it.I also had a local beer, called gentse strop.We enjoyed our meal and did not pay a lot for it.I would very very much recommand it. Thes restaurant is being ran by 1 women, but she puts her heart in it and she somehow manages to keep waiting time to an absolute minimum !

Ghent has a few Irish Pubs, but we've always preferred this one. The atmosphere is just right (dark cozy corners inside, spacious room outside), and we do enjoy the food; a decent selection of burgers and sides topped with cheese brought back the England-feeling for us. The only downside is that you might have to wait for your food for quite a bit, but if you are in good company, that doesn't seem too bad. Some days are reserved for folk nights, and sports are also often screened. Whenever we go in, something always seems to be going on. It's great fun, really.
