Reviews on Pub food in Lyme Regis, England, United Kingdom. Lyme Regis /ˌlaɪmˈriːdʒɪs/ is a town in West Dorset, England, 25 miles (40 km) west of Dorchester and 25 miles (40 km) east of Exeter. It lies at Lyme Bay on the English Channel coast at the Dorset–Devon border. It is nicknamed "The Pearl of Dorset". It is noted for fossils found in cliffs and beaches that are part of the Heritage Coast—known commercially as the Jurassic Coast—a World Heritage Site. The harbour wall known as "The Cobb" appears in Jane Austen's novel Persuasion, in the John Fowles novel The French Lieutenant's Woman, and in the 1981 film of the same name, which was partly shot in Lyme Regis. Its one-time mayor and MP was Admiral Sir George Somers, who founded the English colonial settlement of the Somers Isles, now known as Bermuda. Lyme Regis is twinned with St George's, Bermuda. In July 2015 Lyme Regis also became "tripled" with Jamestown, Virginia, as the Historic Atlantic Triangle of Lyme, St George's and Jamestown. The 2011 Census gave the parish and electoral ward a population of 3,671.

ive been in here a few times for food whilst in lyme regis. freindly bar staff good food, and great place for sitting in front of the fire with a pint when its cold out. definatly worth a visit.

Visited on Tuesday evening the day after a bank holiday. No problem booking for a party of five. We arrived early but the table was ready, we were warned that there might be a slight wait for food but it didnât seem that there was. Everyone was very happy with their food, my wife declared the steak and ale pie to be a new high point (and she is something of a steak and ale pie connoisseur) and my 6 year old daughter was delighted with her ham, egg and chips - the ham was very thick. Desserts were also very good. The land lady came over for a chat and all the staff were friendly and did their jobs well. We walked along the Marine Parade looking for a place to eat. We were too early for several of the restaurants, and others seemed overly touristic. We were delighted to find this pub around the corner from the Cobb. As a previous reviewer indicated, it was perfect pub food. The service was friendly and the patrons seemed to be locals. We enjoyed our meals.

Was visiting family in Charmouth and they recommended we try this place for the breakfast. We certainly weren't disappointed. Fantastic Full English plus they did an excellent gluten free version for my wife. Table service was great and all staff very friendly and welcoming. One final bonus was the home made sausage rolls available at the bar, a real twist on the usual recipe, couldn't resist buying a few for another day. If you're in the area, try this place, you'll love it.

This pub has real character and a great selection of cask ales. A great place for a couple or three pints during the evening. The staff and clientele add to a very warm welcoming atmosphere and the beer is just delicious.

We came here on our way home from a weekend away. The Sunday lunch was possibly one of the best examples of a roast beef meal I have had in a restaurant.The beef was beautifully cooked and thinly sliced, the veg were all perfectly cooked and the roast spuds were, although I hate to have to admit it, nearly as good as mine! Added to all that was the excellent horseradish sauce which made my ears hurt - just the way I like it.Finally, the treacle tart we shared at the end of the meal was a wholly unnecessary delight. Highly recommended.

Pretty average all round. Service was good enough but the starter poor to be honest, a charcuterie board had a few slices of ham/salami/chorizo from a packet and the main wasn't much better, the seafood platter consisting of smoked salmon (presumably from a packet), some dressed crab meat and some shell on prawns. And a lot of bread. Nothing I couldn't have rustled up in 5 minutes at home with some scissors for the packets and a plate.It was ok, not bad or terrible but I expected a bit better for a Lyme Regis restaurant and wouldn't go back.Kids scampi and chips was good.
