Shepherd's Pub

We had been to this restaurant in the previous location and always liked it. We decided to go with our daughters last week and were rather disappointed with the quality of the food. I order the Guinness stew with mashed potatoes and peas and it had no flavor. The potatoes looked like they had been left in the fridge for a few days and re-heated. They were clumpy and hard (not good for mashed potatoes) The peas were shriveled and not very well cooked and the Yorkshire pudding was soggy. The waiter was very nice but the service was slow. Not sure if we will ever go back.

Quaint little restaurant in Elora, very welcoming and friendly staff.Interesting different menu, great choices, making it hard to choose as everything looks delicious. I guess we will need to come back to try other menu items. I had the beef and chorizo chili, while my wife had the salmon cakes.Chilli was a bit bland, but salmon cakes were awesome. Will try the French Canadian meat pie next time around. Being French Canadian myself, that will be the test!Patio gave a nice entertaining view of the other tourists milling around

Metcalfe Restaurant

This is the third time we've been here and it's not bad, but nothing special. The location is the best part about it and the patio is nice. The food is good, but nothing to go out of your way for. Prices are fair. Service has never been amazing but not the worst. Although it is pretty inconvenient when a group of 8 people gets their food and the waitress still hasn't brought cutlery or napkins. Of course she was nowhere to be seen when needed so we went to the hostess stand and helped ourselves to utensils. Also she never returned after the food came to ask about refills. Tipped accordingly. Lucky she got one at all.
