We were craving a fresh green Cali style Spring mix salad and a pizza along for the ride. Expectations exceeded! I doubted the balsamic maple salad dressing, but in self-administered portions it matched and amplified the fresh greens.Every pizza and pizza opinion is different, but this was fabulous the first time and as two left-overs. Get this pizza.

Lovely setting on the harbour this place is a must. We went for lunch and was quite busy (always a good sign) Waiter was great, gave recommendations and was interested in our feedback, I expected basic pub food BUT WOW it was better than a high end restaurant we had been to the day before we had the Crispy Tempura Prawn Tacos SO good and Crispy Chicken Torta. presented so nicely - Great value for moneyDear Rosie778,Thank you so much for dining with us recently at The Hatch Waterfront Pub! Pizza was great. Thinner crust with a chewy side to it. Practical down to earth pizza made the way it should be - no fluff!!No delivery - a skimpy 10% discount on pick up. Not a lot of choice for pizza here so this worked well.

Basic Goodness Pizzeria

Neapolitan Wood Fired Pizzeria in the Heart of Tofino. We Are An Italian Owned + Operated Family Business. Dine in. Licensed. Patio. Take away.

I've travelled extensively in Italy, and I reckon I know a good pizza when I see one. Basic Goodness, with its Neapolitan chef, delivered on expectations. The crusts are just right - not thick like Pizza Hut, but not super-crispy-thin like they'd skimped on the dough. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. Much better than the pathetic and over-priced offerings of 1909 Kitchen opposite. My ortolano (the toppings vary by seasonal availability) had artichokes, olives, kale and I don't remember what else - incredible. The rest of the family agreed their pizzas were first-class.The menu is short but that's because they stick to what they do best. Only one dessert (tiramisu) which I'm sure was excellent, but we were too full. Bright, white, modern decor makes the place seem bigger than it is. Staff were wonderful. My only complaint is it was a bit noisy, but that fits the style of the place.Only six tables - three for four people, three for two. They don't take bookings. Get here early, or get take-out. Recommended.
