Ate here this afternoon. Waited to be greeted but no one arrived so we seated ourselves. We were refused tap water by the waitress (a first even in Italy!). Ordered pizza. Very sad looking and had a funny taste. Meat felt really bad quality. Waitress didnât bother to speak to us even when we paid. No conversation whatsoever or checking we were happy with the meal. Didnât come to give us the bill or ask if we wanted anything else - had to go to the bar to pay ourselves. Poor service, and were charged for x2 cover charges even though only one of us was eating and drinking. Wouldnât recommend, plenty of much better places locally where the waitresses arenât surly!

Our hotel recommended this place because it was nearby, 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. It was a local place off the beaten path that served pizza and regular dinners. Food and service were excellent. Grilled octopus was great. Wine selection good and reasonable prices. Manager was very accommodating and spoke English pretty well.

This is a great little find. A small pizzeria with the feel of a pub. Pizzas took a while to come (they also do takeaway so we were in a queue) but were excellent. And great value.

We were refused our welcome drink by very unpleasant woman on till despite being told at reception that we could use our vouchers later after arriving. Suffice to say, we did not eat there again and spent our money somewhere else. Il nostro più grande rammarico è quando questo non accade . In merito a quanto accaduto, ci teniamo a sottolineare che la nostra collega che si occupa della cassa del Varnelli Bistrot e Restaurant, non ha fatto nulla di sbagliato, anzi, ha cercato di gestire una situazione di incomprensione, cercando di spiegarle quanto accaduto. Al check-in di tutti gli Ospiti dell'Hotel del Sole, la reception offre agli Ospiti appena arrivati un welcome drink. Al momento in cui vengono consegnati i coupon ai clienti, viene specificato che la Direzione offre agli Ospiti una bevanda fresca di benvenuto, preparata direttamente dal nostro barman, e che basterà consegnare il coupon al bar, per ricevere il nostro drink di benvenuto. Ciò che è accaduto, è che, Lei ha pranzato nel nostro ristorante, e al momento in cui è andato a pagare il conto, voleva che da quest'ultimo fossero scalate le bevande, utilizzando i coupon del drink di benvenuto. La collega ha cercato di spiegarle che non fosse possibile, ma lei ha reagito molto male al rifiuto della mia collega, addirittura gettandole i coupon sul volto, in senso di disprezzo. Siamo certi che si fosse creato un malinteso, e che voi non avevate ben capito quale fosse l'utilizzo dei coupon di benvenuto, ma comunque sarebbe stato meglio cercare di ascoltare ciò che la collega stava cercando di spiegarvi. In ogni caso, speriamo comunque che il soggiorno presso l'Hotel del Sole sia stato gradito e che ne abbiate un buon ricordo. Vi aspettiamo al più presto di nuovo a Pompei per venire a scoprire le altre bellezze del nostro territorio, Cordiali saluti, La Direzione.

Perfect local family-owned place exactly in the place where you would look for it. Not some tourist-trap scummers, but very kind and open-hearted personal (@theMissWithPerfectEnglish - VERY good job, thank you again). The food was delicious including the of-the-menu pasta for my allergic girlfriend and great dry white wine - Greco di Tufo.Looking forward for another visit this amazing place. We will surely come (this time 1500 km by car).GO AND TRY IT if you are interested in local cuisine for very good price.PS: no photo attached, just enjoyed it fully

I have eaten a lot of pizza in my life and my expectations were very high but they were surpassed at Trammiere!A very informal no frills kind of place with a legendary pizzaiolo/host who made us feel more than welcome. Based on looks, you would not expect much, but on taste it delivers. Antonio really is a Maradona of pizzaoli. Best of all, not expensive at all. Well worth to get out of Napoli or visit after touring Pompeii.

We had two different pizzas and a salad. All were excellent. The pizza in Italy is different than what we are used to here. Most pizzas here are tomato sauce based. In Italy, you will struggle to find a pizza with strictly a tomato sauce base, but the pizzas are really good, regardless.

After a long day climbing the Vesuvius, we found this great place to have dinner.We have eaten our best pizzas in Italy and the service was perfect : Giuseppe has been a great advisor (moreover in French) for our meals.
