This is a hidden little place, only open on Fri and Sat evening. The homemade pizza is excellent. It's a very pleasant garden spot (ourdoor seating only) for a fresh garden salad, cold beer, and good pizza.

Il Vigneto is an Italian restaurant and pizzeria located in the area of Petion Ville near Port-au-Prince in Haiti. Itâs one of the top rated restaurants in Haiti, the food is delicious and the menu is very extensive with affordable prices.The restaurantâs colorful owner, who by not coincidence is an Italian, is very polite and will give you a personalized treatment. The only bad impression I had is a refugees' field of people affected in the earthquake of January 12th 2010 right in front of the restaurant but fact is by now this is a scene very common in the city everywhere until all these this people get relocated. Anyways once inside the place this wonât matter.Il Vigneto is a good choice for the lovers of Italian food including pizza.

Stopped here for lunch after arriving at the airport. A couple of us had the VOL Cap Haitien sandwich and a couple had the VOL Cubano. Both were very good and we had to wait while they were made fresh. They also have salads, crepes, pizzas, and ice cream. I would stop here again.

I remember Pizza Garden back when it was in Port-au-Prince by the now defunct Royal Caribbean Hotel in Carrefour. This was in the mid 1980's, and my sister and I thought it was the best pizza we had ever had. Since then, I have lived all over the world, and I have to say, this pizza is extraordinary. First, let me begin by saying, it is weird. They have a pizza that uses American cheese, and this would be enough to make most pizza aficionados recoil. But the proof is in the pudding--or in this case, the pizza. I stumbled upon Pizza Garden, and lo and behold, it was the same establishment that had traveled up the hill to Petionville. Even after sampling pizza in many places in the country of its birthplace and in some of the top places in New York, Chicago, and the Bay Area, I found the pizza just scrumptious. The ambiance is candle-lit and lovely. You would never expect to find such a place beyond the unassuming gates of the restaurant. It is popular: crowded and loud. There are few wines on offer--red or white. But all in all, it was a wonderful experience, and highly recommend for even the most incredulous pizza connoisseur. Order the pizza with the American cheese.

You can tell the staff is well trained. They follow a pattern - including serving olive oil, balsamic and parmesan onto each of the small dishes which while very nice, takes away each individuals preference in how they would combine each of these ingredients, and it takes a long time. The bread is excellent. We had seconds. Our table ordered pastas, lasagna, a chicken dish and pizza. All the food was well presented and tasty. It is the most expensive restaurant I have been to in Haiti. Maybe one could argue itâs worth it. What I did not appreciate was the way they calculated the bill at the end of the night. The dishes are priced in gourdes but the bill arrived in US dollars. The exchange they used to convert gourdes to dollars was not in favor of the client. Then, since we all live and work in Haiti we had to convert back to gourdes. It was a mess and ended up increasing the price of each meal. When you are paying $50 a meal x 6 persons, it makes a difference. This should change.
