Simple food done well can be delightful, but you won't find that here. Unfortunately, this is basic food done very badly. Meals are of a very poor quality and it is a stretch to justify Old Mac's low prices for such awful food. The one saving grace was that the fries which came with my meal tasted good. Otherwise, presentation and quality were substandard. Service was ok. If you are after a delicious and satisfying restaurant meal in Hawera try somewhere else.

The staff were excellent - but sadly the food was very average. Not much freshly made dishes...a lot of pre- frozen and processed dishes.... over cooked veges.The restaurant itself looks very chic and the buffet was well presented at first glance. Was disappointing - at $30.00 per head expected more.

Delicious Kebab with so much variety of add ins and sauces. Sit in side or outside. Wheel chair accessible. Toilet available I would accompany a child as it is out side. It is on the main route. The people I think husband and wife are so willing to help and accommodate changes for allergens and likes and dislikes. I am a celiac and have eaten here many times. Also the place is very clean.

We visited this place in a group of 10 and were disappointed with the quality of food for the price. It seemed more expensive than it should have been sadly.

We were the only two in the Restaurant, another couple had just left when we arrived.The menu has a rather limited choice, but we enjoyed our meals.No real flair shown with the meals, but maybe we were expecting something a little more upmarket.

Visited for a quick lunch after reading trip advisor reviews. Very busy and we were lucky that someone vacated a table as we were pursuing the food cabinet and menu.Two lovely young men taking orders and serving the food.Clean toilets and surroundings.We both had spinach and feta pie which was delicious.

Amazing coffee and service. The cabinet food is always delicious as well especially the donuts or hummingbird cake! Couldnât recommend more highly as a go to stop in Hawera for a meal or snack.
