Pompously named, Gastronomie Vogelsang is in fact the cafeteria area of the Vogelsang visitor center. As I visited late september 2015, the site was under heavy restructuring, but the cafeteria was opened. A wide array of drinks and a small selection of dishes were available. The place is pristine and the staff very attentive. I took an expensive soup but it was quite good and freshly made. The bill is on the expensive side, but the place clearly wants to be posh.

Wir waren zu zweit an einem Freitag Abend hier essen. Die Einrichtung ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber alles ist ordentlich und sauber. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und zuvorkommend die Speisekarte ist sehr übersichtlich und einfach gestaltet. Die Preise:normal für Eifeler Verhältnisse. Wir haben einmal Steak mit Pfefferrahm und Schweinesteak Winzer Art bestellt. Beides mit Bratkartoffeln als Beilage. Dazu gab es für jeden noch einen kleinen frischen Salat. Nach kurzer Wartezeit war das Essen schön angerichtet auf dem Tisch. Geschmack, einwandfrei. Portion, ausreichend. Wir werden uns wiedersehen. Danke für das leckere Essen

Celebrating the end of a very enjoybale long weekend in Heimbach, we had dinner in kochKunst. A wonderful setting, excellent food - you should try their Flammekuche - and a very friendly service made this a memorable evening. Highly recommended !

Nice place for breakfast, but also for 'Kaffee und Kuchen' (coffee and cake).The cafe also has a nice outdoor seating area, overlooking the river Rur. Prices are very acceptable.The quality is good, so is service.I was doubting about rating the Rur-Cafe as 'very good' or 'excellent'.I choosed for the latter, because I was here a long time ago and returned almost automatically.

Starter: Fruit salad with excellent seafood; but what a combination. The quality of the seafood was wasted with this combination.Main course: Pork fillet stuffed with Prunes and camembert; sounds a very nice taste combination and it was. However the pork fillet was crispy, yes crispy! I ordered the fillet cut because it is a lovely tender cut of meat. On the menu it had a dish of crispy cooked chicken so why did I get crispy pork fillet? It made a 'wood sawing' noise when I cut it with a serrated knife; in fact I could not cut it and my partner had to do it for me. And making a pretty pattern with half potatoes in a circle does N O T make good cuisine! We were hungry and ate the food and left feeling hungry and disappointed. The promising part of your restaurant is that you clearly use good ingredients but the chef's planning seems 'let's make it modern and different' and it should be focusing on good food combination and quality.
