Hanau is a town in the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, in Hesse, Germany. It is located 25 km east of Frankfurt am Main. Its station is a major railway junction and it has a port on the river Main, making it an important transport centre. The town is known for being the birthplace of Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm and Franciscus Sylvius. Since the 16th century it was a centre of precious metal working with many goldsmiths. It is home to Heraeus, one of the largest family-owned companies in Germany.

This is definitely on off my most favourite Steakhouse in Hanau. The restaurant is small but very nice designed. The variation of Steaks is excellent as well as the quality that's being delivered. The service is also very good and friendly and can only advise to go there and convince yourself. Price is not cheap but therefore the quality delivered is really good.

This is the second trip where I have stayed in this hotel. Everything has been super clean, the staff are super friendly. Today I had dinner here and was so very impressed. In fact, the local population come here for dinner. I think there are only a handful of guests in the hotel but the restaurant is packed!

Ruderei is the restaurant of the local rowing club but itâs not your typical club house food. As well as some dishes from home, they also put some food from away on their menu. I had beetroot gnocchi which were super yummy and Bruce, the crass Australian, tried the baby calamar - equally delectable! The interior is fresh and nice, too, and in summer, they have a nice terrace. Located next to the river, the big windows offer good views. What a fantastic addition to the food scene east of Frankfurt. Definitely worth a trip out of the bigger smoke.

GroÃer Gewölbekeller unterhalb der Schlossterrasse des Schloss Philippsruhe. Die Küche ist gehoben und sehr lecker. Unser Kellner war aufmerksam und ein guter Gesprächspartner. Das Restaurant war am Samstagabend sehr gut besucht.Wir waren hier mit sechs Personen zum Essen. Ich hatte das Flanksteak und zum Nachtisch den Milchreis mit Kirschen. Beides äuÃerst lecker und sehr schön angerichtet; sowohl geschmacklich als auch optisch ein Genuss. Leider gibt es auch einige Kritikpunkte anzumerken:Die Wartezeiten bis zum Erhalt der Speisen waren deutlich zu lang. Da wir in geselliger Runde dort waren, störte dieses uns aber nicht weiter.Die PortionsgröÃen der gehobenen Küchen sind eher auf ein Drei-Gänge-Menü abgestimmt. Nur von der Hauptspeise wird man nicht satt, auch wenn es sehr lecker ist.Wie in jedem Gewölbekeller geht die Lautstärke zum Teil ins unerträgliche. Auch stören die groÃen Belüftungsrohre das Ambiente.An etlichen Tischen gibt es auf einer Seite normale Stühle und auf der anderen Seite durchgehende Bänke ohne Rückenlehne. Die Rückenlehne habe ich dann mit der Zeit schon vermisst. Aufgrund der wirklich guten Speisen und des Kellners trotz der Wartezeiten und der PortionsgröÃen eine Empfehlung.
