Maybe because we had lunch and then there is only the lunch menu available and maybe not the chef in the kitchen?Anyway the served food was okay but not great. We had the 3 course social deal which started with gambas and mushrooms which were both good. The main course was disappointing: salmon was blend, spareribs dry and fries not crunchy. Dessert was good with icecream and sorbet. Main disappointment was it took 2.5 hours for a 3 course meal which is too long.

We stopped for coffees & pastries (which are so great in this area) at Lunchroom De Bongerd & again we were not disappointed! The coffees were all accompanied by a shot glass on the side with advocaat & topped with cream. This is a really nice tradition in the Limburg area & some places have slight variations to this, so it all makes for a nice memorable experience of the area. Needless to say the flans were all delicious too! The walls were decorated with crafty canvasses (for want of a better word!) with a teapot/coffee theme & were very different so added to the restaurant theme. They were for sale, so had we had room in our suitcases, would have been very tempted! The staff were friendly, chatty & very welcoming, so next time definitely worth a return visit!
