Most Popular Indian food in South Ayrshire, Scotland, United Kingdom

Find out what Indian restaurants to try in South Ayrshire. The village of Alloway is home to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and the Robert Burns Heritage Trail. Highlights of the trail include Auld Kirk Alloway, Burns Cottage, Burns Monument Gardens and the 13th century Brig O'Doon. South of Alloway along the attractive A719 coastal road is Culzean Castle and Country Park which offers much of interest all ages. En route is an unusual roadside attraction called Electric Brae, a 'magnetic hill' where a car left out of gear will appear to go uphill due to an optical illusion. A few minutes drive from Culzean Castle is the famous Open Golf championship course at Turnberry where the clubhouse is open to the public.

Visited Auld Acquaintance in Girvan partly due to the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, which bore no resemblance to the establishment we visited. The place itself wasdefinitely appropriate to its title - auld (old), tatty and looked uncared for; however, once inside, we decided to give it a go as often appearances can be deceptive. I ordered a tuna & feta pizza and my friend ordered roasted Mediterranean vegetable pizza. We waited ages for the food to arrive, despite the fact there was hardly anyone in the place and when the food eventually arrived we were both flabbergasted. Both pizzas were made with ready made pizza bases, smothered in what appeared to be tomato puree instead of pizza sauce and my pizza was smothered in what I can only presume to be tuna savoury, the type used for sandwich fillings, instead of just tuna with lumps of melted cheddar and a tiny amount of feta on top. It actually looked as if a dog had thrown up on top of a pizza base. My friend's roasted med veg pizza wasn't much better and both were served on plastic plates! My supposed tuna & feta pizza was cold, so I asked for it to be warmed up, whereby the waitress took it away & then the 'chef' appeared & explained that it couldn't be reheated due to the presence of mayonnaise, reinforcing my suspicion that it was sandwich filling on the pizza instead of just tuna & feta. The food was so awful we ate only a couple of pieces, paid and then left. I wouldn't mind but the food there isn't cheap; £8.99 for a 9 inch pizza which frankly wasn't as nice as a chesp frozen pizza from Asda. The food was absolutely horrible and the place bore absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to the establishment described or depicted on Trip Advisor, therefore I'd recommend that everyone gives this place the widest berth possible and go elsewhere.

Situated on a busy street [Sandgate], there is little attractive regarding the building, while the decor is acceptable if basic. The (only) waiter was pleasant and attentive, but the “ding” of the microwave should have alerted us to the problems. We ordered from the main menu - avoiding the packaged deals - perhaps that was a mistake,The shared Tandoori grill was spiced well enough, but the main (Chicken) meals were less spicy and the lack of freshness in the meat was more prominent. Both diners experienced gastric upset and it is reasonable to associate that with this low grade place and its poor quality food.If you like hot spicy that is very cheap and you consume a lot of alcohol first then you may enjoy the experience, but its really better to avoid this.

We were a group of eight visiting Ayr for a “girlie” weekend celebrating three 60th birthdays. Couldn’t be bothered going out so ordered a takeaway through the Just Eat app. The food arrived quicker than the given estimated 30 minutes and was absolutely delicious. 4 starters, 4 mains with all the usual sides of nans, rice etc. The order was spot on, piping hot and everything was delicious. Next time, we’ll dine in!

5 guests for a birthday dinner. Staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive. Fish pakora, prawn puri and garlic mushrooms were all very good, cauliflower pakora less so, a bit lacking in taste and consistency. All mains were good with readonable sized portions. All food eaten!Real naans.Free drink at the end of the meal.A pleasant experience all round except for the price. The view is good ,(in daylight) and the restaurant is comfortable but not luxurious so I find it had to justify the price. Shame because we would visit more often.Worth a visit if you dont mind paying over the odds.

Back home we eat out a lot on holiday we do the same hence looking for different places to eat. There was 9 of us and booked for Thursday nite on arrival found we were only people in restaurant. We were seated and given menus about ten mins later we got the attention of waiter to order drinks as we had 3 children in party this caused a bit of confusion. When he came with drks we ordered food we had to repeat some of the items to make sure we got them. The service in this restaurant is the worst I have ever experienced for the main course they hand you hot plates 25mins later when meal arrived the plates are cold why bother in first place. The waiter spent all nite on his phone hence customer service nil.The food would not rate in the top 20 Indian meals I have had and nobody finished there meal always a bad sign.Anyway next year we will make sure not to return.Hi there, Michael F, I recall you and your group dining at our restaurant. Firstly I would like to touch on a few points. 1) you said you were the only customers present, which is true during that time period, which means we had all the time to give you the undivided attention and service which we thrive on, without the usual added pressure of other diners.2) It is common practice to ask diners how their meals are as well as service, which we did with your group, to which each time the response was it's great, really enjoy it.When we have small businesses we rely on return custom, hence we do our upmost best to provide a high standard throughout. If as customers you are not being honest and feel the need to give false statements for whatever reason when asked about your dinning experience that is solely a reflection of your integrity. We resolve any issues that customers have at our restaurant however if you do not be honest and inform us, how then do you expect us to rectify anything that is not to your liking.

Probably the warmest, most attentive, masterclass in service I have ever experienced.Any restaurant would struggle to match the personal attention at Yasmins, which is supported by delicious food. A place where you know you will want to return. Memorable, large portions, gorgeous garlic nan and a good atmosphere. Competitive prices.Thank you to the manager and all of his team, front of house and back.
