Only people in the restaurant which doesn't help with the atmosphere. The decor is dated and a bit odd. The food was served quickly and my veggie balti was nice . Husband had chicken Sri Lanka which was average. The Bombay potatoes were a bit sour. All in all it was average but we wouldn't rush back. Shame..it used to be fab years ago

Fantastic service at The Grand Hotel Hartlepool. Is it the most modern up to date boutique hotel ? No BUT itâs spacious, nostalgic & is currently being ran by a dedicated & professional team. Highly recommended Wedding Venue they literally cannot do enough for you, & like all Grand old ladies she scrubs up well. Great Place.

Been coming here now for years and I absolutely love it , basically in my life time ive been to over 500 Indian / Bangladeshi / Pakistan Restaurants and this is by far the superior.Basically the owner is second to none - he is proud of his restaurant and treats his customers with a superb attitude, the portion size and quality of food and prices are amazing.I would recommend this restaurant to anybody and everybody - if you thought the Sheesh Mahal was great in Seaton Carew then try this as this is 100 times better.I cant remember the owners name - but many thanks to him and his Chef and staff for many many amazing meals - and many many more to come.

wrong order sent rang in and was told I got what I had asked for I order the same meals every week so goes to show they don't know loyal custom along with my food I received a bag of hot slimy salad. I was offered a replacement but did not want to wait another hour for it . very hit and miss service lately

This restaurant far excels all other Indians in Hartlepool, this is a relatively new venture bar the same owners of Sheesh Mahal located in Seaton Carew. The true spices are in the food without being overwhelming like some other restaurants. Well worth a visit nice menu and drinks range, coupled with polite service.

Monday night visit, walk in customers table for two, great food, good portions and good service, I had onion bhaji to start and a veggie Ceylon, mushroom rice and a garlic & cheese Nan, my friend had a prawn starter, chicken balti with coconut rice and a pashwari nan all washed down with a couple of pints each of cold cobra. We could have split a rice and a nan and there would have still been enough food, all in all a really nice meal. Everything including poppadoms and the beers well under £50

We return here at least once a mont. We find the staff extremely helpful, pleasant and generally offer fantastic customer service. The special offer of 5 plates for 8.95 is mega value for money. The menu is extensive and you'll always find something different to have. What you do have will simply be fantastic. It will probably challenge your knowledge of Indian cuisine and you'll.want to return. The highlight of any visit is the home made naans and these are wonderful! Around about the size of a ten inch pizza, never tasted anything like it. We've probably being ten times and never had a bad meal.

Been a few times over the last month. The staff are the main attraction here absolutely fantastic. We travel to India most winters and we would say this food is the nearest we have tasted to real India everything cooked on site in the beautiful setting of hartlepool marina. They hold no license for drinks so they allow you to take in your own drink no corkage either !! Soft drinks available. The starters are mouth watering superb. Our meal (friends of 4) all different and all different heats just cooked beautifully so cozy. One of the best infact only the best indian around

Visited with friends and can see why they like it. Fairly busy for mid week, service a bit hit and miss and ran out of draught cobra , which is a bit odd for an Indian. Generous portions and tasty enough but nothing that special or wrong - probably a harsh average but not very good!
