Nice atmosphere next to the swimming pool with sea and mountain view. The staff is very polite and welcoming. We had an unbelievable meal at Maria's Tavern this week. Maria (host and cook) and her daughter run the restaurant out of Maria's home, which has a tree growing through the main dining deck outside (she also has a two-table deck upstairs). We knew we would be eating what Maria chose to prepare that night, and what a feast it was! From Greek salads with vegetables grown in her garden, to flaky crusted squash pie, to the best tzatsiki we had ever had, to spicy cheese and fried cheese dishes, to a tremendously flavored pork dish with cloves served on rice, to a topper of yoghurt with Lefkada honey, we could not stop eating even when we knew we should. And Maria and her daughter served it up with love and grace. If you are on or near Lefkada you need to get there as fast as you can.Dear friends your inspiring words honour my tavern and myself. People like you give me strength to keep going and continue my traditional small business in Kolyvata. I wish you are well and happy and have a great summer in Greece or wherever you desire. We visited nydri for 5 days. It was the most valuable restaurant in nydri. Delicious meats, variable handmade foods, amazing garden with fountain 40 meters from the main shop and the owners were so friendly. You can eat from 5 euros per person ( gyros and draught beer). Love them
