A sizable city in its own right, Arnhem is best known today as the site of one of the most famous battles of World War II. Given city rights in 1233, it has long been at the center of conflicts because of its strategic location on the banks of the Rhine River. The Battle of Arnhem, part of Operation Market Garden, was fought in September 1944. Advancing Allied forces, in large part due to a series of mistakes, failed to secure a key bridge and suffered defeat, delaying the Allied advance into Germany until the following spring. The 1977 movie "A Bridge Too Far" was based on the events here.

Several outdoor seatings perfect for enjoying a lunch or a beer in the sun. Salmon sandwich were really tasty. A good amount of salmon inside makes the price highly worth it. They also have a good selection of beers, including American favourite Lagunitaâs IPA.Nice roadhouse interiors and lots of seatings inside as well. A highly recommended place to visit.

What a great find - we only stopped here for a couple of beers but loved the concept - around 100 beers on tap (mostly Dutch) including a full range of styles; you load up a payment card from the servers and then just pour your own beer where the card is then debited according to the ml poured. Loved it!

We found this place thanks to the Arnhem Pigs rugby club. Lively and spacious restaurant just off the main square.We shared the Flammenkuchen to start and then had ribs (monster portions) and burgers. Real huge and tasty food portions.Side order of corn on the cob.Great beer selection here. Ask the staff for advice and ' taster ' glasses on their guest and house ales.Staff were helpful and attentive.
