I enjoyed a bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was delicious. They give you enough fries to share. They also make a wide variety of crepes. We also had chocolate crepes. You will not find a better cheaper meal in Papeete. Thanks Manuel, we hope you enjoyed your stay in French Polynesia (except "the catedrale" LOL...) Merci for your nice comment!

It’s a must in Pape’ete to visit these lovely roulottes for food. We sat and watched all the stalls setting up which was cool, and the food was great and remarkably cheap for French Polynesia. We will be revisiting in a few days for our last night in French Polynesia & can’t think of a more authentic ending to an amazing trip!

The restaurant has less than 10 tables, but we loved the variety of the menu and the drinks. Truly French. They started us with a house complimentary duck spread with french bread and complimentary compotes. We shared foie gras for two. My husband had steak frites with bernaise sauce and a salad. I enjoyed veal kidneys in a mustard sauce. To end a Grand Marnier Souflle . Lovely

Fabulous find in Papeete! Our tour guide, Tracey, made a reservation for us at the wonderful restaurant. The food was fresh, creative, and flavorful. The soufflés were exceptional. We opted for savory and dessert soufflés in addition to our mains. Service was friendly and everyone was helpful with our rudimentary French. It’s not an inexpensive restaurant but we felt it was a very good value for the quality of the food and experience. This is a great choice for dining in Papeete.

Le Grillardin

This place is a must visit! We spent $50 in cab ride from the Intercontinental on our last day in Tahiti but this place is worth the extra $ for the taxi ride. We the the escargot wrapped in egg roll wrapping. For the main course we had mahi mahi in an amazing puff pastry and my husband had the rib steak with blue cheese sauce. The portions were huge for us but that may work well with other people. I WOULD TOTALLY go BACK to this place when we return to Tahiti.

L'O a La Bouche

Table of six. Very nice atmosphere. First course included burrata salad and escargots. Portions for the first course was larger than expected. The salad was very good. The escargots was good but could use a little more garlic (it was presented in white wine cream sauce). Others had mushroom ravioli and a smoked fish dish which they liked.Second course included a fillet with a cream wine sauce that came with sides of cheese potato and steamed vegetables. Another second course meal was a strip steak covered in a wine cream sauce accompanied by a half bone of marrow. Very decadent. The second course was also too much food with having the first course. We shared the trio creme brulee (vanilla, chocolate and pistachio) and bananas foster (which was accompanied by french toast.Along with five bottles of wine and after dinner drinks, the tab came to a little over $200 per couple which we thought was a good deal. Loved this place.

The restaurant is at the Intercontinental Resort which is beautiful. We enjoyed the wonderful view and relaxing atmosphere. The food was enjoyable. But the service is slow and inattentive. The staff seem bored and unhappy. With a 5-star resort comes high expectations and I don’t think their service meets those expectations.

We spent 3 days in Papeete, before embarking on a cruise, and fortunately decided to venture beyond our hotel's predictably fine but expensive restaurants. We had heard about this establishment, and when we visited, we were delighted with this outstanding selection! The food, the service, and the crisp white tablecloth ambience was as good as you will find in any world class restaurant. But be warned, it is a very small restaurant with only about 6 tables, and it is EXTREMELY popular with locals, so bookings are essential. We chose the Degustation menu where each course was wisely sized (so we didn't end up "stuffed"), and delicious!! The a love, always carte menu selections are sensibly limited, which ensures that everything offered if fresh and delicious. Our bill approximated 10000 Pacific Francs pp, which while perhaps approaching top dollar for Papeete, converts to a reasonable amount by international standards, and well below what one would pay for comparable fine dining in Paris. We would joyfully return in a flash, and highly recommend this restaurant to any visitor!
