The restaurant is based on a square with many different restaurants and bars. Entrance is large and spacious. However for a cold night the door just opens into the food area. So if sitting close you might feel a draft.The restaurant serves several menus, of which the 'Bib Gourmand'is excellent value. Strangely enough though if you do not eat the whole menu, you pay more (so two courses are 40 euro and three courses in the menu is 37 euro... strange). Starters were thinly cut beef (very nicely done) or fish. Main again meat (duck this time) or fish (cod). Both also prepared nicely. Dessert (for the ones taking it) was prepared really nicely. A panorama of mushrooms on a bed of earth and grass... (see photo)Bedankt voor u mooie reactie. Wij vonden het fijn dat u een mooie avond heeft ervaren. Graag tot een volgende bezoek.Om nog even uitleg te geven over een 2 gangen menu. Wij serveren alle gerechten los met de daarbij horende prijs (op de kaart en de website vermeld) En om een voordeel te hebben is het voor de gast aantrekkelijk om 3 gangen te kiezen, waarbij we de prijs die de Michelin aangeeft hanteren.

In een eigentijdse gezellige ambiance (licht industrieel) biedt dit restaurant zeer smakelijke gerechten. Verrassend was de amuse! Er is een uitgebreide wijnkaart, met ook ruime keuze in wijnen per glas. Vriendelijke bediening met verstand van zaken! Ruime privacy biedende plaatsen, met sommigen zicht op open keuken. De menukaart biedt een goede keuze is vis-, vlees-, en vegetarische gerechten. Salade en frieten zijn apart te bestellen. Als extra service krijg je ma ontvangst een karaf water en wat broodjes met olijfolie, boter en zeezout. Een restaurant om zeker nog eens terug te komen! NB Je kan er ook overnachten!

This restaurant is located in a quite remote area in a small village, Valthe. It is an old farm converted to a restaurant. The ambience is accordingly, but in a stylish way. The tables are centred around a big fireplace, where guests are welcomed with an aperitif. In the surrounding area, it is the only restaurant on a more culinary level, being listed in the Michelin guideThe restaurant works without a written menu. Instead, you only decide how many courses (3-8), what you like and dislike and a menu is created for you. We went for 6 courses and informed the kitchen we wanted to drink a glass of white and a bottle of red wine and the menu was adjusted accordingly. We had 2 fish courses (one with shell fish), 2 meat courses including the main, cheese and a desert. The wine list is quite extensive, with wines from may countries.

A charming place to eat, surrounded by nature. Huge terrace. Dogs welcome. Wellknown for its typical Dutch culinary 'kroketjes'. We also serve hare, deer and rabbits we got from the hunters that walk in the nearby fields and woods.

This place is a kind of middle of nowhere, but thatâs the beauty of it. No sounds of traffic, airplanes, people.. Just the fields and trees around you and birds singing. We were here for a birthday party, and this is a great location for a private event.Stunning sunsets and sunrises and the lodges far enough from each other , so that we all have proper privacy when finally get to bed. Food is excellent and people running the place are really friendly. This is a camping site with options to rent a place to stay. Strong recommendation!!!

Having been here a few times, I was surprised that the restaurant was listed no. 22 of restaurants in Emmen when It could be a lot better then that. Almost all ingredients are there, but the right recipe has not been found yet. Location is not bad, and the place has a very nice feel to it. We were sitting outside in a spacious aria at the front of the restaurant. Drinks were served quickly. So, the setting was there. But what was missing ? Hmm perhaps that the food was just good, nothing special. Meat ( Rib Roast ) a bit dry, and the tomato soup was almost a diluted Pasta sauce. Too creamy and cheesy. but all in all, not bad at all. The service was kind and helpful but during dinner they left the table unattended for too long of periods. I guess the place just needs a bit more professionalism. Paying a bit more attention to details. Taking away used plates quicker, and come by a bit more often to check for drinks. So, could be better, but 22nd is certainly not deserved !

I had a Sunday Roast on - really - a Sunday evening and the food was great, although the roast itself was a rather small portion of meat,m greens and potaties. But especially the starters and the desserts were amazing great.Dear Wijtze,Thank you for your kind review! In the future, please let us know when you expected a bit more on your plate. What a gem. Wonderful ambiance and decor. Elegant setting and brilliant helpful and friendly service. So - a really good start! The food (Michelin Star Standard) was divine. We chose the 5 âsurpriseâ courses with the associated wine flight. Some lovely textures and flavours superbly presented. Chef clearly knows what he is doing!Special mention of the wines they chose to complement each course - each one perfect and often unusual but another delight. This is probably one of the best reviews I have ever left and if I could score 6 I would. Really hope to be able to return.
