Mouscron (French: [mukʁɔ̃]; Dutch: Moeskroen, pronounced [muˈskrun], Picard: Moucron) is a Walloon city and municipality located in the Belgian province of Hainaut, along the border with the French city of Tourcoing, which is part of the Lille metropolitan area. The Mouscron municipality also includes the old municipalities of Dottignies (Dottenijs), Luingne, and Herseaux (Herzeeuw). In accordance with the national law, the municipality offers dual language services in French and Dutch. Kortrijk, in Flanders, is located just to the north of Mouscron.

FB in Mouscron is a lifesaver, as the suburb seems pretty dead in August. Tasty burgers, a particularly nice veggie burger, and huge chip portions (honestly, could not finish it despite not having eaten all day). The staff are very friendly, and the only possible downside is, like all chippers, the queue. It's also quite good value.

Located in McArthur Glen shopping mall with many name brand shops, Joe's is a reasonable option for lunch. The Formule is the burger of your choice (a dozen possibilities) with fries or salad and a drink for 11.90â¬. A euro cheaper for the formule with salad. My husband had the burger of the month--beef, chorizo and a fried egg. I had the "vegan" which is not vegan but rather vegetarian--generous serving of grilled mozzarella cheese, pesto on both sides of the very nice bun, lettuce and lightly grilled tomatoes.
