In the corner of Uprising Street and Lenin Street, this little café tries very hard to be western and Bourgeois. Trying for 19th century style with 90s pop ballads might be a wee bit over the top. But still. This is a nice place and a place definitly unique in Europes last soviet republic.Coffee is good, food is ok and the staff is very nice and speaks reasonable english. Then again, there is a menu in english, so you can always point your way through to your eggs and bacon...And after all: All you need is Love

Our daughter visited Tiraspol and said we really had to go to this venue. It is a little difficult to find, although that may have been us!We entered to be met by a very stern lady, thankfully we rembered the Russian for tea and sat drinking our tea and taking in the ambiance. I take it that the decor is now kept as it is for the sake of the old party members, who were sat at a table near us, and us tourists! Although it is not far from Hotel Russia so that could also account for it. By just ordering tea I think we upset the lady. However, on our next visit, having been chased out by the same lady shouting "private" she did direct us to tables outside under a roof and then cracked a smile when we asked for two beers and a Cognac. The drinks arrived a 11/2 litre bottle of local beer and a large brandy glass of Cognac for me. The beer was good and one we had not tried the bill was so cheap as to be almost inconseqential. This is an exceleent place to take in the atmosphere and people watch, although not to closely...

We as two veggies in Tiraspol looking for a nice meal had seen this place on our travels and to be honest it is not probably somewhere we would contemplate eating, but as we were very hungry thought as it apparently caters for both Italian and Chinese/Japanese. It is apparently a Moldovan chain.The menu is a large tome but handy on two counts it has English translation and has all the veggie options listed in the middle with photographs. Service was good and food was also of a good standard. Price was reasonable. We were sat downstairs and the only toilets appeared to be on the first floor. They do advertise that there is a dress code and this is not specified but we went in wearing jeans and casual tops and didn't have any problems.

On a warm eventing in June, with a group of 4 we had dinner on the terrace of the Mafiya restaurant. There's a large choice to choose from, and menu's are alos translated in English. Super friendly staf, good food, nicely presented on the plates and very nice desserts. Despite the name of the restaurant, you feel very good at ease and you're not ripped off at all. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good food in a nice athmosphere.

Since we were staying at the Hotel, we ate both dinner and breakfast here once. The mamaliga was very good and we really liked the bacon-wrapped pork medallions. Breakfast was middling and not worth the price. Dinner was good overall. Service friendly if not particularly prompt.

We went to the restaurant for the dinner and some drinks. Good quality of food for really great price. Friendly staff, rich menu. Good location right on the main boulevard, approximately 10 minutes of walk from main tourist attractions.I recommend to visit the place while staying in Tiraspol.
