Pleasantly surprised with the great menu. Chose the veal starter - absolutely excellent. Asparagus was on the menu so we chose the asparagus mains. No-one was dissapointed. Excellent winelist and we were also offered some wines which were not on the menu and chose the Montgras Quatro - excellent choice. The service was also friendly and attentive. This restaurant is a definate if u in the vicinity.

Restaurant Voltaire is new in our area and managed by Chef Marco Westmaas. We had a 7 course menu with exquisit tastes from all over the planet accompanied by some great wines. If you are prepared to travel a bit we certainly recommend the journey laid out by the chef. Located in the centre of the village of Doorn with many tables on a sunny deck. Inside rather bare. Menu presented on a clipboard. Complimentary (tap!) water, which may sound cheap. However, the tap water here is of an outstanding quality. Reason why some bottling companies, including Heineken, have their operations nearby. The duck is recommended. However, the waitress could not recommend an accompanying wine. Pricewise also recommended. Worth a detour, especially on a sunny day.

I was here for a business talk with somebody. The coffee they served at De Kluis is perfect and price worth. Sagefredo. Like in Italy. Delicious cappuccino. Friendly personnel. De Kluis is attractively located in the centre of Doorn, with a heated terrace. Good and friendly staff.

I arrived on Sunday evening without a booking when they were already very busy. Whilst they have an indoor seating area everyone was outside as the weather was perfect. The service was efficient and friendly, the food excellent, a delightful family atmosphere. I started with crab soup that was absolutely delicious, they provided ample fresh bread to go with it - followed by steak and chips perfectly cooked. The only downside is that they donât offer Coca-Cola so I endured a Pepsi!

Chalet Helenaheuvel is an ideal place to stop for drinks or lunch when exploring the beautiful 'Kaapse Bossen' (forest) in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Located close to the village of Doorn, it can be found on a number of the well-marked walking routes around these woods. The restaurant is built on higher ground, so the view from the terrace is very nice, although on windy days it can get a little cool sitting outside.There are more tables outside on the terrace than inside the restaurant, so if the weather is not good, you may have to wait for an available table. The menu is good for a lunch and includes most of the usual traditional Dutch choices. The food is presented well and served by friendly personnel.Unfortunately, similar to other reviewers, we also found the service here to be a little slow, however it was a bank holiday weekend (feestdag) and the restaurant was extremely busy when we visited. This historic building, which has been extended over the years, certainly makes a nice stopping place when you are out walking in this area. It can also be reached by a small road and there is free car parking very close by.

We recently called in at this restaurant for lunch during our long weekend visit exploring the lovely countryside in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. We were immediately greated by very friendly personnel and because of the good weather, we chose to sit on the terrace outside.The menu here is very good with quite a number of unusual tasty choices of food on it. As it was lunchtime, I chose the 'Scampi / Ossenhaas Salad', which consists of prawns, pieces of beef and green salad served-up in a very tasty Thai dressing and is reasonably large and filling (for a lunch). I was not disappointed !The nice atmosphere, choice of food and the very friendly staff made us return here again with friends on two more occasions (for lunch and drinks) during our small holiday in the area. We did not experience dinner here, but when you look at the beautiful inside decor of this restaurant, I am sure it would be a very nice place for an evening meal. I would certainly recommend it.Thankyou Jacqeline for your freindly service each time and I am sure we will return here again the next time we are in the area.

When we walked in we thought it looked nice but not outstanding, yet the food was just awesome and creative.The service was some of the best we have ever had and the wine selections were right on.The food was extraordinary and made it a very good experience.Even though the setting was not overwhelming the food and service more than compensated for it.The only downer was dessert which was all green and just not that appetizing.Just so sad for a meal where everything else was awesome.The fish they served was incredible with just the right seasoning and flavor.Left very satisfied!

Echt een geweldig concept: keuze uit meer dan 30 voor-, hoofd- en nagerechten. Alle gerechten die wij hebben genomen smaakten heerlijk. Wel op tijd zijn. Keuken voor hoofdgerechten open tot half 10. Moeiteloos hebben wij 3 uur aan tafel gezeten. Heel vriendelijke, attente en snelle bediening. Heerlijk gegeten.
