It's definitely refreshing to dine at a place with vegan/vegetarian options here in the Pfalz where veganism isn't as welcoming a trend as other big cities, eg Berlin. We frequent this hipster cafe and the soups are always delicious. The accompanying bread is fresh and the salads with my all-time favourite Orange-Mustard dressing never disappoint. Owned and run by ambitious young people with friendly staff alike. This is a free-seating and self service casual establishment, although reservations are welcome. I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend who has been going here for years. I was amazed at the quality and creativity of the food. The chef has managed to keep the best of traditional food and add his own signature style so that's it's fresh and unique. I am a frequent patron of high end restaurants in Strasbourg (for work) and have been disappointed that the tastes are so similar. This is definitely not the case at the Auberge, and the ambiance is fantastic. The owner is warm, interesting and has lots of stories to tell about the restaurant which has been in her family for generations. My favorite restaurant by far.

What a lovely evening at this fantastic restaurant. I suggest the fish dumplings...the taste was incredible. For dessert we tried the sorbets with alcohol...super!!! The only thing that could be improved on is ventilation. We went there on a very hot day and there were no fans or air conditioning unit so some moments were really unbearable. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

By chance and good luck we found this charming place before leaving France. Perfect cod served with its tasty jus and interesting oyster leaf. Meat was to die for and incredible appetizers and cookies will be remembered. Service and decor charming. Having finished a conference in Karlsruhe we cam here for a relaxed visit. We found a delightful town with the monastic precinct and in the middle, near the church this wonderful restaurant. Sitting outside in the summer heat, under umbrellas with a view over the precinct we started with beer and them a wonderful meal! The local speciality was special and the desert with strawberry sorbet once of the best sorbet we had tasted. An early birthday meal for my wife! Relaxed, friendly and with superb service and food - we will be back!!!!

We had a great lunch , informal local traditional restaurant with focus on great food. Try the Alsace specialités in combination with the local wines. Dessert ask for the homemade chocolade tarte with fresh fruits. Only 5 min from the shopping center.

Quality of meal and service was outstanding. This restaurant apparently gets few Americans, so we were assigned the waitress who speaks passable English. The room was beautiful, the food and wine were delicious. This is a very elegant restaurant, but the wait staff was gracious and not stuffy at all. The owner visited our tale twice to make sure we were satisfied with our meal, and recommended some of her favorite wine merchants on the Wine Road outside of Colmar. Probably the best meal of our France trip.

I went here with a party of five and we enjoyed the reserved yet attentive hospitality, the quiet atmosphere and of course the beautiful and tasty food. The waiter friendly guides the guests through their selection of drinks and food.Around 10 tables occupy the room and there is room anough to walk between them withouth disturbing other guests. Suffice to say that conversations from nearby tables remain private. The food is of a rare quality. The cooking is obviously done with heart and soul, ie. not your regular professional restaurant type of preparation and this gives a very authentic, warming and delicious taste. The menu has a choice of meat, fish and pasta dishes.Servings are on ceramic colored plates or bowls. (I think the food at SAF deserves other i.e. less opresssive kitchenware as well as non paper napkins). I will not get into detail of our meals, go find out yourself, but just highlight the beautiful arancini arranged on a plate with freshly(!) grated parmesan. Succulent, not fat, echnically perfect. Although they rested too long after preparation and had cooled down too much. I suspect it was very busy in the kitchen. The wine list is adequate but nothing fancy. Italian wines are an art in itself and SAF made a fine selection offered for very reasonable prices. I can only heartily recommend the place.

Just as a starting note; the restaurant staff is smoking at the entrance of the restaurant. I find that strange for a restaurant which tries to sell itself a la a fine dining restaurant. We reserved a table at 7.30/8 pm and arrived at 8.30 pm. We were welcomed by an impolite man who told us that, in line with international standards,our table was cancelled. Another waiter seemed to disagree with him but the person continued to refuse us and seemed to enjoy it. The impolite man also told us that the restaurant had called us just before to check if we were still coming. This was an outright lie. We have checked our history of phone calls and they had not called us.
