Second time we've eaten breakfast at Shrubby's this month. Great eats in a really fun atmosphere (50's diner)! Their regular "Pit Stop" breakfast is 2 eggs, your choice of meat, hash browns, and three pieces of toast. I like my eggs poached which some places won't do but here they obliged very willingly. Also no problem switching out the hash browns for grilled tomato slices. I appreciated that flexibility! I ordered pemeal bacon as my meat and, both times, the cuts were thick and generous. Only two concerns -- One, where's the coffee? The waitress didn't come by on either of our visits to offer to top up our coffee (especially strange since both times, there were only a couple other customers!). Secondly, for breakfast, this tends to the higher side price-wise. At $7.99 (not including coffee), this is not a breakfast "deal" spot. But, as indicated above, the food is definitely good value! You get what you pay for, I guess.

We have not tried many restaurants here, especially for breakfast, but this ranks very high on the list as this was an excellent start to our day. Everything was cooked to our satisfaction, pleasantly served and the waiting time was not long considering the number of patrons there when we arrived. The coffee was very good and Pam the waitress made sure you did not run dry. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Been a few times and wonât go back. This guy is not pleasant, rude and thinks he is better then those that walk in the door and puts money in his till. His ignorance will catch up to him. Plenty of other places to have a good breakfast.

Tried this restaurant today . Had the simple three eggs bacon and toast, the portions were very generous and tasted great. Seating was fast and efficient. Service was great , the server was very attentive and our food came out hot n fast. The only downside would be that the place is like eating in a school gym sound wise, it's noisy and lots of echo's . I think you can hear every plate getting rinsed and put in the wash. franchisee should look at some sound and noise control.Glad to hear that you enjoyed your experience with us! Went to The Monaghan Cafe for brunch today and it exceeded expectations. Loved the retro environment, simple and clean decor with some cool artwork. Food was amazing: I had the Maryland breakfast which is eggs benny on homemade crab cakes- not store bought. Poached eggs on top and a fresh greens garden salad on the side. Even added a small mug of smoothie included with the meal. Reasonable price and excellent friendly service. Will go back for sure. We are long past the baby stage of life but shoutout for having a change table in the downstairs washroom, very accommodating if someone has a baby with them.

We stopped in after a large event in Peterborough and was throughly impressed with how clean and friendly this restaurant was. The prices are fair with nice large portions and quick out of the kitchen. We will definitely be a must stop every year for us.
