I went with my Dad and we had a really lovely long lunch. We weren't hurried, nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. Our waiter, Stephen, was excellent, he managed the fine line between friendly and professional perfectly. We'd definitely go back, although it is more of a "treat" restaurant eg: Birthdays/celebrations. The setting is absolutely beautiful.

Visited last night based on recommendations from other friends all I can say is AMAZING. Food was unreal, hot and delicious just what was needed on these chilly nights drawing in!! Service was great. Couldnât fault our experience at all. Iâve been here a few times now be it for drinks or food. Iâve never had a bad experience! Went for dinner on Sunday, chose the roast beef followed by sticky toffee pudding, canât go wrong! not Iâm afraid quite as good as last time.Arrived a few minutes early so was sat in the bar, ordered a pint of soda and lime which had a few lonely bubbles in it but no real experience of Co2. Sent it back andcwas given a new one with maybe 1-3% more fizz than the last one, so gave up at that stage.Booking was for1300 and were shown to our table at around 1315. I chose the Gambas starter which I would classify as nice.My main was a mix of beef and lamb (instead of pork), although the waitress said she would have to check if they had enough lamb, so off she went and spent a few minutes chatting to other staff behind the bar before checking and returning. Partner had lamb, we were both impressed with the meat (my beef was nicely rare) as last time the vegetables are still too bland, they are functional but not delicious. Potato was crisp in a tad firm inside.Both our desserts (Eton mess and brownies) were well presented and delicious.Toilets remain spotlessOverall a few niggles , would only take a few tweaks to make it exceptionalI am sorry to hear that your visit this time around was not quite as good as last time. I am surprised to hear that your lime and soda was not up to expectation, we did open a new bottle of soda for the second drink, my apologies if this was still not satisfactory. Just to let you know for future reference, I myself served your table that afternoon, the owner, I would have apologised in person on Sunday if I'd have known you were disappointed in anyway, this is why we do a check back on all tables during service. You are correct, I did have to double check with the kitchen regarding your change of menu, I always like to check with my husband the chef before agreeing to changes, as only he is aware at the time of order as to what we have available. As the owner, the staff do tend to ask/check things with me from time to time during service, so please do not insinuate that I was casually chatting behind the bar with friends and not checking your request at once.
