This place is wonderful. We have ordered from them several times and each time we've been so impressed with the quality and preparation of the food, and the value for your dollar. The broccoli is always tender-crisp, the sauces are terrific, and I've never had better eggrolls. Thank you for being so consistently delicious!

I ordered 2 daily lunch specials today. One was chilli chicken on steamed rice ($5.75). That is about the lowest price I've seen for lunch specials, but it was mainly rice with just a small serving of bland chilli chicken. The other order was chilli shrimp on egg fried rice and the shrimp was just as tasteless. The green chillies that came with the meals were all ground up and not hot at all. An authentic Hakka restaurant wouldn't serve Thai dishes as this one does. All things considered, we won't be coming back.

After reading the other reviews, we decided to try this place. First time, we walked in and the owner yelled that it would take 45 minutes if we ordered now. Due to time constraints, we headed somewhere else. We called ahead this time and the food was ready in 1/2 hour. The owner(?) was on the phone when I arrived and was quite gruff during the transaction. He may be overextended cooking, serving and taking phone orders. We ordered the following items:Vegetable Spring Rolls: not bad, not too greasy...Hunan Chicken: This was bland and some of the chicken was tough not to mention that it had that "been cooked and kept in a fridge for a while" tasteOrange Beef: Spicy and flavourful but it lacked the crispiness generally found with this dish. Also, the beef was kind of odd in that it seemed over-tenderized.Chili Chicken: This was the best of the three dishes and had lots of flavour and heat.We likely won't be back and will continue our quest for the best Chinese food in the Ajax area.

I had some time to fill in before a rescheduled appointment and I was hungry. Went l.ooking for food and this establishment caught my eye. Checked out the menu and they have lunch special until 3 PM. Ordered the Cantonese Chow Mein with beef.I ordered the lunch special. I was expecting a much smaller lunch sized meal. Usually, when on my own I order just one dish to fill the empty space. Well, to me this was a king size lunch plate with a spring roll. It does not compare, flavour wise to the food at Yan Cooks in the First Markham place but it exceeds their quantity. The meal was super hot, temperature wise. Steamed up my glasses. There was a generous supply of noodles, beef and vegetables. For me, the rough cut vegetables were on the large size. I usually manage well with chop sticks but they did not appear and none offered. I did not ask. The establishment has seating for about 30 or so people. It looks like a bear bones operation. Table setting was missing the usual salt and pepper. The hot sauce was what looked like a home made chunky hot pepper preparation. It did have a kick to it. The chili sauce was fair. The meal was served quickly. There was a steady flow of takeout Customers. The eat in area had seating available. They note that tip is included in the total meal price. I will be back there but it does not rank near the top of my list, BUT it is in Ajax making it a shorter trip. The menu makes reference to Hakka style for some dished but I have no idea what the means.

I visited Hakka Legend for lunch after recently receiving a recommendation to try it and a craving for Pad Thai!The decor was appropriately Asian themed but not overwhelming.It was virtually empty for my visit which was surprising because their lunch special prices are fantastic! $7.95 for a spring roll or soup and choice of main from a large selection! I started with an app, the Chicken Pakora , which I planned to sample and bring home for my son for dinner; it looked great on the menu and was equally great in taste! The spices they used for it had a pleasant aroma almost sweet yet the app itself was actually more on the spicy spectrum.My main course was of course Pad Thai and it was great! Not dry like Iâve been noticing at a lot of other places Iâve been to lately, saucy and flavourful. My spring roll was as great. Canât put my finger on why I just didnât enjoy it as much as I usually enjoy spring rolls.Service was quick and pleasant.They only take debit or cash for orders under $25 and I almost took a mark off my review for this because I tried to pay with credit initially. I didnât though because on my way out I made sure to look and they do in fact have clearly posted their minimum purchase requirement to use credit on their door on the way in.

I have been eating at the Scarborough location since I was a baby. When I moved to Ajax I was so thrilled when the second location of House of Wong came here! The food is delicious and they are very accommodating to my food allergies!

This is not only a chinese food restaurant. They have a great carvery. Beef lamb and pork. Selection on the Buffet is wide. Always tasty and always hot. The different rooms are nice also if you are having a family or a staff get together. Service is friendly and quick.
