Restaurant Lagana is hotel restaurant of the Holiday Inn Villach. But, when you enter the restaurant you do not have the impression you are in hotel. It is one of the best restaurants in Villach. The menu is not very large, but all meals are very tasty and good. The choice of wines is also very good. The service is excellent. The only weak point are the prices. This lovely restaurant, with a tree covered terrace, is less then 8 minutes walk from the train station. We had less than two hours between our train from Slovenia and our bus to Venice. This was a wonderful slice of Austria for us. The sausages were good, and the strudel was excellent!

It is a very nice place in general. The food is really good but the portions are quite small, as in similar "fancy" restaurants.I don't understand why they don't put at least some more sides, like roasted potatoes....

I got the steak 250g with kartoffel, bacon and green salad...so, the steak, medium rare, was perfect and maybe the best that I had here in Austria!Half liter of nice red wine from Italy, a GOOD espresso (i'm italian), for 29 euro. Legit.

This small castle holding in the hills just beyond Villach is a perfect casual lunch or dinner spot. A gentle walk from ample carspaces with quiet a few stairs to the top.But oh what a view and oh what food and hospitality. They hold concerts in the area but we just went to experience the history of the castle and the great very local food.Excellent.

We went there for the European Bike Week, we wanted to buy 2 drinks in the supermarket, we think that the prices were very expensive! We paid 3.50.-- for 2 drinks! One pack of Haribos cost 2,50.--! These prices are ridiculous! And it was not just that! As we entered the building it was smelling of smoke, because the door to the smoking area was open! For me as a non smoker, this is unacceptable and I will certainly never visit this place again.

This is restaurant with relaxing and lovely atmosphere. Food was very good, steak perfectly done and fish & shrimp stew was great.Very good dessert, good choice of wine, service professional, good value for money. Recommended!

This is one of the few restaurants still open during winter at Faaker See. I enjoyed the food and service. It's a nice, traditional kind of venue too. But it was more expensive than other places of a similar standard.
