I live near but maybe due to the exterior have avoided going here so when friends suggested it I wasn’t that keen. But what a surprise - it is less expensive than others places in the vicinity and the meals are large and so tasty. The staff were awesome- really friendly and welcoming. It’s very relaxing and has a nice comfortable vibe. It feels like the sort of place that can become a local. In fact I will definitely be going often

We went here on many occasions to drink, for lunch and for dinner. where do I start... The first time was for a lunch - I had the $12 lunch special of Seafood Chowder, my partner had home made Tomato soup, both meals enjoyed .On several days we would stop in for a drink on the way back to the apartment , Chatty friendly staff and a very friendly owner - Mel - who was very informative. They also do a good pot of tea. On each visit Staff remembered us as did the owners, It was great to chat to Mel and Andy the owners, hopefully for the right reasons!! We also went here to watch the last few matches each day of the 7's - I had Pork Schnitzel - good - and my partner had Sirloin steak, not quite blue but still rare. Next meal I had carbonera, not bad, my partner had a very nice Beef & Guinness pie. We had our last meal in Hamilton here, I had a full breakfast, NOT a small meal but I enjoyed it, My partner had the House curry - this was the best curry he has had in years, the whole presentation, taste etc. was fantastic. There was a council election meeting/presentation for local candidates we stayed it was so interesting. Once again Thank you Mel, Andy and all your staff.

Came here on Waitangi day for lunch with Hubby and step-son.Drinks were good, Decor is very classic.Food was a little overpriced for the quality. In particular: The Yorkshire Pudding was dry, but roast filing was good. My husband said his meal was like bad home cooking.Nachos were nice but I wouldn't consider the Guacamole (just pureed avocado) as having been worth an extra $3.50Kids fish and chips were exactly as they said, piece of boxed hoki and chips.Lots of ants in the outdoor area- they crawled up your legs which was rather annoying. Hubby walked inside as we left to give feedback but was ignored.
