Visited today and the service was absolutely fantastic. Carlos could not do enough for us, he made sure we always had a drink and that everything was ok. The food was absolutely beautiful and the range of meats was great to say we had the lunch menu. The Grill Pit has been on my radar for about 6 years since moving away from Wakefield, Iâve heard pretty good things about it so when I got the chance to visit for a friends birthday I was really looking forward to it, unfortunately it wasnât at all what I was hoping. Cleanliness, speed and portion size were all average at best (see photos for âbig olâ nachosâ starter which consisted of 3 crisps). The service felt like everyone in there was on their first day, normally I wouldnât mind but when nobody seemed to know a thing about the food or drinks menu it was actually quite frustrating. Our mains of steak/hotdog/burger were alright, although the steak was a hot plate (cook your own at the table) and by the time theyâd brought it out it was fully cooked anyway (theyâd put it on the hot plate, not side plate as is intended). Part of me wants to revisit to see if I just got a bad day, but after such a long wait for disappointment, Iâm not sure I will. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I apologise that your experience was not as expected and can ensure you that i will investigate your complaint further.We pride ourselves on the service and quality we offer. The steaks are served on the Lava Rocks but would only be seared then we advise you remove onto the side plate and cook in batches. I can see by the photographs you uploaded that this is the case.We can not serve them raw on a side plate as have to adhere to Food Safety Regulations. Booked a table for two early eve. Ordered a fillet steak myself and a philly steak for my partner no starters..it was early so was served in decent time bit wow what a plate of food we both recieved. Absolutely excellent (in our opinion) it was our second visit here and it did not disappoint. Quality food and beautiful place...had a cocktail after our meal which was superb and ended the meal nicely. It cost around £70 with a main meal each with drinks so not the cheapest eat but superb for a treat. Highly recommended
