The Brauhaus has a typical German setup with long tables and can house plenty of people. The staff is reasonable friendly as serves you fast.Food is not very special but offers large portions. Meat portions are big and good.Beer they have enough in all flavors.Nice place to return.

Just sitting here and I chose this place by purpose. Others wrote this is not Mexican at all , well I think most Mexican food we eat in outside of Mexico is not Mexican at all. A good Tex-Mex in Germany NRW. That's it. Nice staff, nice nachos. Missing the carne asada or beef sort of offerings but I enjoyed my meal, price is okay and fits the location and yes the location is great. Good start to finish with a live concert in the König Pilsner Arena nearby. Do you need real Mexican food - then go to Mexico. Otherwise select with care and enjoy what you got. Many restaurants are in the area - go there if you want but the Chinese won't be like in China, the Italian won't be like in Italy.

Amazing selection of steaks which you cook yourself on a hot stone, all good fun and the fillet steak I had was absolutely fantastic. However the chips let the side down, soggy and not helping the steak. I'm sure on another day they would be great as well! Good staff and overall an enjoyable experience.

Nice place to sit on the terrace at the small lake after shopping at Centro or visiting a stunning Gasometer exhibition. The beer is good and brewed locally. The food is Ruhr area style and should be tried.If in doubt just play it safe and go for the excellent Currywurst.

Staying locally on business I've eaten here a few times and always found it very accommodating with good 'American' style food. Service is fast and pleasant, the food as good as any pub of a similar nature. You'll not experience Michelin * food and if you want that please go elsewhere. Drop by and enjoy it for what it is, I doubt you would be disappointed. Only point to bear in mind is they don't offer steak which is a shame.

I was visiting a friend in Oberhausen who works at the Centro and we he took me to Alex for a few drinks & snacks late on a Monday evening. The atmosphere was relaxed, elegant & comfortable. Even though my friend ordered for us in German, our server heard us talking together in English and happily switched languages to accommodate us for the rest of the night.Perhaps the menu was slightly on the pricey side but this wasn't entirely unexpected considering the part of town we were in.There are a lot of dining & drinking options along the promenade but I wouldn't hesitate to put in a good word for Alex.Hy danschaumann,Thank you very much for your positive reviewWe are very happy that you enjoyed your visit at our ALEX.See you soon :)your ALEX

Wow, just wow!! Incredible food, we had the gdansk platter for 2. Yummy, especially the red cabbage and sauerkraut. If anything too much food! Very nice (English speaking) waiter was keen to hear our stories of our stay in Poland, poor chap, we probably bored him!Food and service both excellent. Highly recommended... we will be back on Wednesday night!!Don't miss the toilets!!!... see photo!
