Bude (/bjuːd/; Cornish: Porthbud) is a small seaside resort town in north Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of Bude-Stratton and at the mouth of the River Neet (also known locally as the River Strat). It is sometimes formerly known as Bude Haven. It lies southwest of Stratton, south of Flexbury and Poughill, and north of Widemouth Bay and is located along the A3073 road off the A39. Bude is twinned with Ergué-Gabéric in Brittany, France. Bude's coast faces Bude Bay in the Celtic Sea, part of the Atlantic Ocean. The population of the civil parish can be found under Bude-Stratton.

My wife and I have spent a week in Cornwall. This is a beautiful County with lovely, helpful locals. So we decided to round off our week with a nice evening meal at the Wideford Manor hotel restaurant. Without doubt this was probably the worst dining experience we have ever had. The restaurant is nothing more than an aircraft hanger sized cattle market. The noise was deafening, people were pushing and shoving their way to the food. Incredulously we were expected to walk the entire length of the hotel from our table to the carvery. The food was lukewarm and so 15 minutes after walking in we had eaten and walked out. Avoid this place like the plague.

Called in whilst on holiday in Bude. Really pleasantly surprised by this place. The setting in the small restaurant was lovely and the food was even better. Steak to die for and amazing chocolate brownie to finish. Top marks to the chef. Great evening

We had to sit in a dank area of the pub which was severely dated and reminded me of the pubs my mum and dad used to take me to when I was a kid (decades ago). We'd brought our daughter along so we couldn't sit in the other bit of the pub... the nicer bit. Not family oriented, methinks.Food was delicious and tasted home-cooked, generous portions etc, but this pub really needs an overhaul in terms of decoration. We were seated near a pool table and to one side of the room there was a load of junk piled up. Not conducive to a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere I am afraid.

A fabulous setting opposite beach and great to watch the sunset. So many gluten free items on the menu and went back a second time whilst in the area. The fish pie was the first I had eaten out in 15 years as it contained no gluten. It was packed full of fish, piping hot and delicious

Visited Stratton recently and had evening meals in this wonderful traditional Cornish Coaching Inn, what a lovely pub in a picturesque village, staff wonderful and the Landlord and Landlady (Steve & Jayne) were very nice, food was G8 with good prices, Long Live the traditional pub with traditional food and entertainment as we stayed to do the weekly quiz which was great fun but we got the Maltesers (must try harder) will be down again to visit soon

Amazing food in a fantatsic location. Dog friendly bar area had a great atmosphere and the service was spot on. Perfectly cooked and delicious food. Full Sunday roasts all round. Prices were very good too. Cant fault it and may even have to return later this week too

Went with friends 4 adults 4 children, bill no more than £50 including drinks and ice cream for children. Portion size is massive and food is excellent. It is also a 5 on food hygiene rating too. There is an outdoor playground for children too.Thank you for your kind review! Due to a miscommunication between the front bar and the kitchen which is 5 meters behind it, our order was delayed by 50 min. When it arrived finally, the burger was inedible; it tasted like cardboard.Sorry to hear about your wait I do remember it as you where on table four and for some reason the till which is connected to a printing machine in the kitchen didnât go through. So the bar staff was not aware that it didnât. So the kitchen wasnât either. The 5 meters behind is not fair. Nobody knew. When we did become aware as you asked how long the food would be we sorted it straight away. I had to transfer on the till your order to another table number which then went through and we got your food out as soon as we could. The problem has now been resolved on the till so wonât happen again I hope. Iâm sorry about the burger I have made the chef aware of this !!! If I knew what cardboard tasted like I could compare but I donât. But apologies about it and I hope if you come again it will be a better experience now technical difficulties have been ironed out.

Such a friendly, welcoming team. The service was absolutely faultless, and the food was SO delicious, HUGE helpings... so much so we had to have a doggie bag !!!! To take home. Highly recommend the Deck. We will definitely be revisiting again.
