Nestled in an absolutely beautiful chocolate box village, with the river running beside the pub and its grounds. Limited tables indoors but on a summer day with a variety of outdoor tables it was just perfect. Average menu and prices. Do try the Cotswolds Lager, it’s brewed locally and only supplied to selected pubs

Wednesday night is £10 for a steak night - until you book it, then it’s £12.50Need to amend their website. Slightly infuriating. Several of us booked in with our cooking preferences pre ordered. The advert shows steaks on wooden chopping boards. I hate those. They can’t be dish washerd. They can’t be bleached. They can’t be sterilised so in my minds ete they can’t be cleaned properly. So we all had good old fashioned plates. The service was impeccable. Water glasses topped up regularly. Sauces and mustards all promptly brought in. The steaks delicious and chips were giant sized and so hot we couldn’t eat for a while. Tomatoes so tasty too. Flat mushrooms. Salad leaves dressed and tasty. Some orderd deserts which looked lovely. I had the hottest latte ever. Took me 10 minutes to sip it. It was a lovely meal and friendly service. I will be coming back for sure. I’m a Local person.

We were in 2 minds whether to stop for lunch on our way back to Wales or to wait and have a curry later in the evening. Stopped at this restaurant (which looked like a local pub) surprised by Indian reception but a Sunday roast on offer. Whilst that did look good and was popular we were offered the curry menu to look at. Well that was it, fantastic choice and many interesting dishes you don’t get on a regular Indian menu. I had Kerralan Murgh for main and Tikka Paneer starter. Well it’s a long time since I have had such a tasty dish, you could taste all the flavours and it was all delicious! I wish we lived nearby to enjoy this restaurant more often! Exceptional food and very reasonably priced! Definitely recommend the chefs specials . The marinated chicken tikka in the Dansak sauce was really delicious too! Just spicy enough!

This is a great hotel restaurant with a good range of beautufully cooked and presented food. My wife is on a gluten free diet, and they offered to make all but one of main courses gluten free on request. All the staff were incredibly knowledgeable, knowing what was gluten free and what was not without needing to consult books or the kitchen. service was attentive without being intrusive, A really good dining experience - it is just a pity that the restaurant is not open at lunchtime.

From the time we called in the day before, to the time we left the next day, the service and care we received from all the staff was excellent; nothing was too much trouble (even to rustling up paracetamol and providing a lift) The food was delicious, well presented & well served. The atmosphere was informal & comfortable, fairly smart but not over the top. These people know their business! Thanks to you all.Thank you so much for your kind words. We all work exceptionally hard to ensure all of our guests enjoy their time with us. I am so glad we could look after your party as it was a delight to see you all. My partner ordered chilli king prawns from the Gluten Free menu. She was served prawn cocktail instead. They offered to change it, but that would have entailed a wait, when I had been already served my meal. They shouldn’t have got it wrong in the first place. The apology was grudging and not meant. It was implied I’d placed the wrong order. The barman however remembered the order as chilli prawns. The customers in the bar area were unruly and foul mouthed. Some looked underage, though I have no evidence to back this up other than 38 years of secondary school teaching. No effort was made by the staff to contain this behaviour. This was a Tuesday evening. The staff on the Monday were very polite and efficient.Thank you for bringing this to our attention, This is clearly not normal and not something we will take lightly. Please accept our apologies for your disappointing visit

Really good service, unobtrusive and polite, the pub was buzzing with locals drinking...we had a table in the window and half our party got held up in traffic but was not a problem, we still kept on the large table and when they did join us it was fine for them to just have drinks as we had finished eating. Not hurried, very relaxing, just perfect.
