We went there for some hot drinks and cakes. Tried gerlitzen torten, germknedl and apple cake. Loved everything. Place is very charming and cozzy. Staff is very nice and hepful. Prices are like in all other places on gerlitzen. View is great, and it is just perfect place to take a rest there.

I would definitely not rate this restaurant no. 2 in the area how currently is ranked. It definitely doesnât deserve such a good valuation. Me and my girlfriend rely quite often on tripadvisor and this time we were very disappointed with both service and food. The interior design is quite welcoming and sort of let you remain with the promise of equally interesting food. Nothing more misleading! The look of the food gives you the impression of good quality and taste but definitely underperforming. We ordered Wiener schnitzel which arrived without a lemon, the tartare of salmone tasted like one from a can, not seasoned at all, the tomato soup tasted tinned tomatoes with too much cream (squirty) on the top. The staff is constantly in rush, not very chatty and apparently having some difficulties to speak Italian or German. We noticed that there were some guests drinking and not eating so maybe this place is made for drinking rather than eating. In fairness, we didnât try steaks which looked quite good but the rest of the food was very disappointing.

First we noticed the Einkehr from the outside. The lovely heart ornaments, the open fire, the sheep skins. We decided to have dinner there and reserved a table. We were seated on the first floor and the atmosphere of that floor and the people was exquisitely cosy and warm.It gets all the highest marks.The food was very good, our dessert was a surprise, a pear with mousse , very yummy and new to us both.My grilled meat was average, as was the fish. The french fries and grilled vegetables were excellent too.Thank you for your positive review! We are very pleased that you that we could inspire you with our culinary offer. Gerlitzen Gipfelhaus offers a few room to stay in overnight plus it has a large restaurant. It's situated right at the top of the mountain at over 1900 metres. the view from here is simply breathtaking. You can see over Karnten, into Steiermark, through over to Slovenia, then to Italy and upwards to Salzburg. You can even see the summit of Grossglocker. It's an incredible panorama that is 360 degrees! Inside, the rooms were basic with shared bathrooms, but I slept well. It was good value too, with half-pension options. The evening meal was good, and breakfast was even better with a nice large selection, plus freshly made eggs of your choice. Being a large self-service style ski gasthof, it did feel a little impersonal, and the bar shut down completely at 9pm. The Gipfelhaus only accepts cash, with no credit cards or bank cards allowed.

Die Geigerhütte kann man über über eine Mautstrasse ( 6,50 ⬠) erreichen, man kann aber auch eine Wanderung hier hinauf machen. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall hier eine Rast zu machen. Das Essen hier ist sehr gut + Reichlich. Der Service ist sehr gut. Wenn man dann hier oben das Panorama genossen hat und man man hier bleiben stehen auch einige Gemütliche Zimmer zur Ãbernachtung zur Verfügung. Es ist Unbeschreiblich schön in diesem Alpengasthof zu Ãbernachten. Ich selber habe hier sehr schöne Urlaubstage verbracht, allerdings im Winter.

We have been now several times to this restaurant when we were in the area of lake Ossiach. It was always great, they serve delicious local food in excellent quality for a good value. The people are very friendly, too. Last but not least the view over lake Ossiach is just amazing. We will definitively eat there again.

This was my second time here, the first one was years ago and I had good memories about it.This time the restaurant really impressed me, we had dinner outdoor in the front garden under a gazebo with flowers.The quality of the food was astonishing, we all had a great experience. The staff also did their best to serve us.We were full after the main dish but we couldn't leave without the cake, we had ordered 1 for all of us and we still had difficulty finishing it, but it was worthy.Definitely highly recommend! !
