This is a must visit when in Yaounde!!! Good local cuisine. There is no menu!! The wait staff will rattle off what they have on hand. The food is usually a combination of rice or plantains with meat, poultry, fish, or vegetables. The restaurant also have yummy fresh juice. You must try the Baobab juice!!

This place is spare with its decor, but serve is friendly and efficient. The star of the show, however, is the grilled fish on offer. Amazing fish with traditional spice and accompanying plantain and manioc. I can honestly say the sole I ate was the best I have ever eaten! What an amazing surprise for a business traveler and my colleagues.

This is a special place. A group of vendors in competition to sell you their fresh grilled fish (sea bass and "Cap"). No cutlery, just eat with your hands. Great fun and a wonderful experience. Should be around FCFA2,500-3,000 (c. $4-5 per fish/person).

Cool and relaxed lounge/bar/restaurant with great ambiance, nice decor (African style), yummy food and a pleasant local and low-key vibe. Went for dinner and drinks with colleagues in Feb/March 2017. I had pizza and beer but there were lots of other alternatives too. We also enjoyed some live music. Crowd was a mix of local and expats.

A very nice place to enjoy a nice dinner whether it is for business or pleasure. It is on the expensive side as compared to other places in Yaounde. The goat cheese salad is a nice way to start. They add few drops of honey on the goat cheese which gives it a nice flavor that blends well with the cheese. The sauteed shrimps in garlic and arrabiata sauce were excellent. A reasonable wine menu although French wines are on the very high side. The prices for South African wines were more reasonable and just as good. The music can get very loud, but still manageable. Worth a visit.

So good that I went there two nights running. Friday night mellow jazz is excellent. Good, well presented food with a french influences. Atmosphere is intoxicating: open arrangement with jasmine-scented gardens and candles. Staff are charming and proprietor Nathalie is one of a kind. In my opinion, among the top 3 restaurants in Yaounde.

We went here 2 evenings for dinner. The first one was absolutely the best grilled chicken we had in long time. The chef prepared it with an elegant mix of spices, very tasteful. Compliments. The staff is friendly and helpful. The second evening was disappointing. The skewer with fish was over cooked and had no flavour. The skewer with beef ditto. What happened? Well the chef was not working that evening. Thus: if you want a good meal..... assure that the chef is behind the BBQ.

Stayed a couple of times at the Hilton where this restaurant is and actually have mixed feelings... One day it is great the other a bit average and bland. Staff are super friendly, service is great, setting is wonderful... I enjoyed the afternoon buffet a great deal. The Safoutier dining experience in Yaoundé is well known, particularly for its entrées and desserts. On this occasion they didn't disappoint. The pasta bar is also very good. I think it would be worthwhile if they also had a buffet towards the end of the day, so you could justify a heavy meal after work and not in the middle of the work day. Still a good experience nonetheless. The staff are also very polite and well trained.
