Mokpo (Korean pronunciation: [mok̚.pʰo]; Mokpo-si) is a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, located at the southwestern tip of the Korean Peninsula, close to Yudal mountain. Mokpo has frequent train service connecting in Daejon to Seoul, and is the terminus for a number of ferry routes serving islands in the adjacent Yellow Sea and Dadohae National Maritime Park.

Trying but not getting there. Somehow Korea and Western food don't connect too well and that's the problem here. Cold plates, oversweet sauces and ordinary service, all at a cost. Really could do better but they don't know where to start.

목포 2박3일 여행을 하면서 목포 시내에 예약한 호텔에서 짐을 풀고 목포 여행지, 먹을곳을 검색해 보았다.
네이버등 검색에 보니 당연 독천식당이 최고의 인기,명성~~~!!
내가 보기에도 좋아서 차를 타고 슝슝~~달려서 10분 가니 독천식당~~!!
골목길 안에 있지만 찾기 쉬웠고 가게가 가로로 길어요 ㅎㅎ
첨에는 작은 가게인줄 알았는데 안에 들어가 보니 엄청 큽니다
가게 사장님, 종업원 친절하시고 낙지등 다양한 요리와 맛이 일품이었습니다.
담에 목포 재방문시 또 갑니다!!

While visiting our kids, who are teaching English in Mokpo, we visited Coffee Frame. Mr. Kong roasts his coffee on-site and serves delicious coffees (Americanos, lattes, mochas, and teas) in a stylish cafe that just begs for you to sit and chat with friends or business associates over a cup of coffee. I will try to update this post with the exact address, but in the meantime, if you are in Mokpo, do pass by some of the chain coffee shops and enjoy a coffee in this wonderful establishment!

This little gem is located upstairs in the building next door to another restaurant Black Smith. We tried the fried rice noodle dish with chicken and onions and it was very good. They serve cold jasmine tea and offer little sides such as pickled cabbage and carrots and onions. They also have salad with a nice kiwi dressing that diners are welcome to help themselves. A mix of fruit marinated in mint came alongside the noodle dish and it was very refreshing. Some colleagues of ours had been here for lunch before and ordered the 'make your own rolls'. This is what Hoa Binh is really known for, and they have won awards in the past for this dish. You dip rice paper in hot water to cook, then arrange the shrimp and vegetables and sauce to your liking and create your own vietnamese rice paper rolls. Really cute idea! The vegetables are really fresh and the restaurant is very clean and modern. I will definitely come back again to try the rice paper rolls and to try the Pho soup. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the dishes.

It's 14,000 won per person at this vegetarian buffet. Inside, the buffet has a bright, airy feel. It's modern and clean. There are signs in English and Korean. There are no meat or fish products used at this buffet, so strictly so asking, it's vegan. There's a super selection of vegetables, salads, seaweed and soups as well as three rices, noodles as well as mock meats. Within the price, you can have freshly ground coffee from the machine, tea and or juice. It was busy when we went on Saturday but we were still seated quickly. I'm so glad I found this place! I've previously been to the 'wooden hut' veg buffet and this place is soooo much better, although 2,000 more expensive. In my opinion, it's totally worth it! I can't wait to go back!

군자림은 4인 기준으로 한상에 12만원을 받습니다. 3명 또는 2명이 간다면 조금 조정은 되는 것으로 알고 있습니다. 메뉴는 따로 없고 한상을 차려주는데, 광어회, 민어회, 육사시미, 생선전, 생선튀김, 수육, 그리고 수제비 또는 메생이 떡국이 식사로 나옵니다. 우선 다양한 먹거리를 회가 나오기 전에 제공하는 일반 횟집과 달리 회가 첫번째 나오는 것이 좋았습니다. 그리고 그 뒤로 차가운 음식에서 더운 음식으로 순서대로 제공이 되어 먹는 순서가 뒤죽박둑되지 않습니다. 음식은 고급스럽지는 않습니다만, 가격 대비 아깝지 않게 푸짐하게 나옵니다. 남도 답게 메인 요리를 포함해서 반찬까지 맛도 훌륭합니다. 가격이 저렴한 것은 아니지만, 목포를 간다면 가볼만한 식당입니다.

정말 맛있는 바지락 비빔밥 집입니다.
언제 가봐도 맛있는 곳이죠.
그러다보니 사람도 바글바글하죠.
사람이 적으면 비빔밥을 시키고 여러명이 가면 초무침을 시키고 밥을 시켜 비벼먹어도 좋습니다.

The vegetables are mostly different types of sea plants. Our bibimbaps each came with raw crab, raw abalone, or cooked littleneck clams. They were all delicious! They offer three different sauces, including a soy bean paste sauce for the sea squirt bibimbap. Every single banchan dish was tasty too! The service was great even when the restaurant was packed.
