Two nights in luxurious surroundings
Reviewed By Chels_Maree88Our group of 3 friends stayed in the camp for 2 nights in early March 2022. Our visit was part of a larger private tour booked with Morocco Key Travel. We had the whole camp to ourselves and it was wonderful. I tell everyone back home that visiting the desert was my favorite. After arriving by camel we were shown to a spacious and fully appointed tent. Three beds, carpets everywhere, lighting, a full bathroom, and plenty of blankets. Outside, there were rugs as walkways between the sleeping and dining tents. Lights were out between 11 and midnight, and we slept well. Between excursions out to Merzouga and nearby Berber encampments, we relaxed in the cabana with tea, and tried sandboarding. At night, songs by the fire. And oh the food...hearty soups, fluffy bread, flavorful Berber omelets.

Today we went for lunch and asked if there are open and yes they were. We sat down waiting for server. Meanwhile we saw couple managers walking and drinking tea, passing by us not even say hello or if anyone is taking care of us. After sitting and looking at workers passing by for 40 minutes we decided to ask someone for service. We felt we are extra and seeing management walking around us and not care for customer stering at them we decided not to stay and leave. We blame the management. It seems they have different revenue beside restaurant buisness that make them such careless. We believe loca government should take a deeper look into their business for revenue, harassment, intimidation, discrimination against customers.

The Auberge Amellagou located in the Moroccan High Atlas to 1440 m above sea level, built in traditional materials inn has 12 large rooms with comfortable en suite bath. Family ( 4 people), single or double . And an apartment (4 p , bedroom, living room, bathroom) .A pleasant patio with trees and 3 terraces with magnificent views of the mountains. Large dining room .

Reviewed By 70avaYou never expect to encounter such a guesthouse in Amellagou. The minute you enter, you understand you have chosen well. The place is beautifully planned, wide, airy and with amazing light. The rooms are comfortable and super clean. The décor and old photos the cover the walls give the place a sense of a home museum. But above all it is Ali who is the owner and manager who makes this place so special. Do it dinner there - it is superb. We loved the place and will be back.

Reviewed By embrue_menAs we were stopping over on our way to Merzouga, our expectations were relatively simple. The service was excellent, from arrival and dinner to a washed car in the morning. The dinner was delicious, rich, not to say too much for two grown men. We had a similar experience at breakfast, which was also very tasty. Despite the shortness of our stay, a short walk through the village was fascinating and brought us a little closer to the life of the people here. Thank you so much for this unique accommodation!

Cute stop over
Reviewed By jinnaebrianeMy tour group spent one night here after we left Fes headed to the Sahara. Our group was hosted in the Riad on the property away from the main hotel. Our Riad was gorgeous inside and out and it was nice to have our own building. Rooms had a living room and a separate bedroom which gave us room to spread out. The Riad sits on the main highway so it can be a bit noisy at night but earplugs solved that. There is a nice 15-20 min walk down to the river past the hotel which we enjoyed. Meals weren’t anything special, but the showers were hot and the staff was nice.

Reviewed By 160brendamDefinitely stay here over anywhere else. Excellent food, heated blankets, comfortable rooms. The ladies that work here are very pleasant and informative. The location is fabulous, very easy to walk to and back from the Roman Ruins. Oh and not to forget the amazing coffee they serve. The best stay in Morocco.
